201765 Sounds like they’re reinventing the wheel every time.

201765 I also find that they talk at cross purposes. The hospital had me down as diabetic two weeks ago based on one test they did there and then. My GP a few days later dismissed that result and did further tests to determine I wasn’t even insulin resistant, let alone full blown diabetic. One GP told me I didn’t need any medication after my mini stroke. Another one seemed surprised that my blood pressure had been allowed to go so high and the symptoms were horrible. He gave me medication a full two years after the stroke. And I still don’t know how long to expect my sight to be distorted because of this bleed I’ve had.

201765 Clapped.

201765 My pet hate is detailed descriptions of cars and bikes. I’ve read these in traditionally published books. They have no impact on the story and hold up the action. Another one I’ve come across is a detailed description including technical terms of what must be the author’s hobby. Unless you share that hobby or those details are integral to the plot they become meaningless jargon. I’ve stopped reading a couple of books that went too deep into jargon. But I suppose someone who shared that hobby might enjoy it.

201765 No hope here, but well done Anita.
201765 Carole is very generous with her support of other authors.

201765 Well that’s all good news apart from the bus journey. It’ll be a weight off your mind knowing that she doesn’t have to go in for the minor seizures.

201765 Finally achieved something. I finished beta reading for Alex. I think I set a personal record, I’m a very slow reader. It’s a very good book.

201765 How fantastic, well done.

201765 That was really great.

201765 So kind! I wish!

201765 Yep. I use a memory stick. I used to be partly responsible for server backups for the BBC about 150 years ago. I picked up a tip or three.

201765 That’s a lot of hassle. Hope it goes smoothly with no delays.

201765 That’s a bugger. Hope it goes ok tomorrow. I’m hoping to restart reading your latest tomorrow. I’ve done some sewing today and I seem to be ok for chunks of time then I put a cold hat I’ve got on my head and cover my eye for a bit. I look fantastic in a purple migra-cap. Unfortunately they don’t stay cold for very long.

201765 Absolutely true. Come to think of it, my eye infection/swelling came on after I’d been to hospital to have the bleed investigated. Probably too much of a gap to blame it on that though. Hope you’re feeling better soon.

201765 Must have been an amazing experience.

201765 I’ve been saying this for a couple of years, in the UK, people don’t like paying for books. My view is people need educating. Maybe they assume that we get paid just because we have a book listed on a website. However given that I’m unlikely to be able to change the public’s understanding of self-publishing, I’d price books according to how much people will pay for them.

201765 No haven’t seen that. I’ll have to look it out.

201765 Good that you didn’t feel it. Mum had her eyes lasered probably for diabetic retinopathy. She didn’t enjoy it at all (she didn’t enjoy much in life!) They can’t do anything with mine apparently. They don’t laser them for what I have. It’s a case of wait until the blood clears out of the vitreous. Or they will inject my eye. Not sure I’m a fan of that. I think the eye infection has thrown me more. I can’t wear a contact lens in that eye until I’ve finished with the drops. My vision is just more one sided than normal. I shouldn’t complain though, I’ve just listened to a brilliant singer on the TV who is totally blind.

201765 Both eyes? Ugh. How long did that take to heal? I’m lucky it’s only one. It’s been two weeks since they picked up the bleed. It hasn’t improved. I’m just lucky the cause isn’t diabetes and it’s only one eye and not my dominant one. I hate not knowing the cause. And I have no idea if any of that has typos!
