Takers?

Increasingly gruesome murders are happening in the city of Chicago. With no apparent connection and every lead turning into a dead end, Detectives Row Ferguson and Jonah Rome have the chief of police breathing down their necks to solve the cases. When crucial evidence goes missing, Ferguson and Rome find their jobs in jeopardy.
Is someone trying to sabotage the cases? Will they find the killer before they lose more than their reputation?

I used to be into social media when i was a young 'un and there was less of it and it was all less intimidating. I think it's one of those things that's, if not necessary, really important for a self-pub author. So I'm taking the plunge!

So I'm a total social media beginner. I've been back on the self-pub wagon for a year and still didn't manage to start a FB account or Twitter account. So I just started one today because I know it's dumb not to.
Anyway, first I'm wondering what you guys use these accounts for? I know that sounds like a super stupid question, but like I said, I'm a social media beginner. I want to attempt to post regularly though. I find all self-pub stuff really interesting and it would be fun to share my thoughts.
Also, these are my accounts:

If you are so inclined, please like me or friend me or twit me or whatever one is supposed to do in this forum!
Thanks in advance!

I would take out the word "finally" starting the second to last sentence of the last paragraph. And change the last sentence to:
"If she lives through its horrors, she will save her loved ones and they will finally be free."

Then again, I think in a mystery, the expectation is that the mystery will be solved at the end of a book. If it's a romance, it doesn't necessarily need to come to a happy ending conclusion at the end, right?

At the end of the first book, the H and h meet up again after a period of being separated. He does something pretty bad to upset her and she ends up screaming at him and running off. He vows to someday get her back. End book 1.
I know people don't like it when books that end on cliffhangers. Is there anything I can do to fix this or mitigate it so that people won't give it a bad review just because it doesn't end in the H and h getting together?
