201765 Dale, looks like great things are happening for you. Congrats! We all know you've put in the hours so I'm very pleased for you. Fingers crossed it works out according to your wishes.
201765 3, generally speaking, though there are bits I like in 2.
But I'd probably lose the last two sentences, certainly the very last.
201765 Aw, shucks. Too late for the party. But that's swell. You got what were looking for which is the main thing. Best of luck with it!
201765 hiya!
Overall I like it, so excuse me for spitballing. I don't mean to change your voice. Just a thought...

You might not like Chester, and you're not alone in this. But that's not really the point. It's the hazards of being a successful investigative reporter. Some folk dislike him so much, they want to kill him.

Off the grid in New Zealand, a stranger knocks on Chester's door and says, '"The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.” Mark Twain said that, and I'll prove him right.' Then he takes him to the gates of Hell where Chester promises to return to the one girl he has ever loved.

You are invited into this mystery: intriguing, exciting and deadly.

There. Hope it helps

201765 Hello. Here in Spain we're on our 5th day of lockdown. Only supermarkets and pharmacies are allowed to open, and the only reason anybody can venture outside is to go to work or to buy bare necessitie, food stuff, toilet roll (only joking - that's all gone ;) and/or medicaiton. As you might imagine, some people don't take this seriously enough so police are authorised to fine infractions.
Personally I don't know anybody with Coronavirus symptoms but official figures tell a different story. Every day the number of infections are rising and the predictions say that the virus won't peak for another month or so.
Initially the state of emergency was proclaimed for a duration of 2 weeks but it's already clear that it'll go on longer than that. Needless to say we're going a bit stir crazy already, although we have lots of time to read and write and watch movies.
Now, what's going to happen financially is another question. My wife has a wool store that is now closed until further notice. We're not alone in this. Even the big airlines are going bust.
On a brighter note: every day at 8pm people all over Spain appear by their windows and applaud the efforts of hospital staff. It lasts maybe 5 minutes and surprisingly effective as a reminder we're not alone in this.

Anyway, hope everybody's safe and remains sane while this is going on. (safe) Elbow hugs...

201765 Halloween is one of the those weird holidays that Europe doesn't have a tradition for but that some businesses try to enforce on people now (like Valentine's and Black Friday, if you can believe it). Growing up in Germany I'd never heard of Halloween until the 1980s. When I lived in the UK in the 90s there was a little bit of it (but nothing comparable to US scale). Here in Spain it seems to catch on as an adult excuse to get dressed up (though some schools do it, too) but without any trickin' or treatin'.
Personally, I've developed two of my own Halloween habits - watching horror films (and I recommend the original 'When A Stranger Calls' from 1979) and writing an anual horror short story.
Oh, and I might bake a pumpkin pie, too. ;)

201765 Hello
I agree with Dale that your blurb is too long, and I like the way he whittled it down.
My only suggestion woulb be to bring back a few words that signal the genre - vampires, ghouls, magic, so the reader will know if they're in the right realm.
