Speaking of editing in general. It is a good idea and perhaps a very much needed one but $2,000 to $3,000 is a lot to have on hand for something like that. That is after paying for a cover, unless you learn to do it yourself, and other expenses.

I just created a new book on CS and so far everything is the same. They gave me a chance to buy a proof at the usual price but I opted for the PDF for speed. I just up loaded a new file and if this one works out I will be ordering copies next week. So I will see if they let me. Recently I saw a listing for author's copies on a previous book when I was looking for something else. But next week I will see.

I happen to have a novel that really needs a beta reader. But it is probably around 96,000 words.

Hmm. Need to check my reviews and my wife's. Actually hers are mine because of that $50 rule. But I should be okay when it comes from that now. but I do have a couple of reviews coming up soon.
