The #GOALS thread (242 new)

201765 My goal is to figure out how to work marketing into my routine. Right now I have five writing days a week. I'm thinking of marking one of those days off for marketing--by which I mean working on everything from my web site to learning Mail Chimp to attending local live events. Basically everything that is not actual writing.

How do you folks do it? Set aside specific days? Catch as catch can? Five minutes in the morning? ;-)

201765 This can get complicated but the example given is on the easier side of things. As others have said, it all depends on the tense of the story itself.

I get into the car and look over. "You're gonna want to buckle up," I tell him. He loves it when I say things like that.

or

I got into the care and looked over. "You're gonna want to buckle up." He loved it when I said things like that.

For the most part, present tense wants to stay in the present tense. Past tense virtually never slips into present tense. When in doubt, stay with the tense that brung ya.
