With Twitter in flux and needing to create a build an email list for my novels, I decided to create a newsletter on Substack and send out once a week.

It will include short fiction vignettes in the wide universe of my current and future novels. Some stories will include characters published or characters to be published. I'm hoping to provide backstory and Easter Eggs. I think it's going to be fun.

Will also include my interpretation of quotes I've found helpful, updates on my author journey and random thoughts on a variety of topics. Join me on this journey.

Thanks. I think I have about 150 pre-orders with some book launch events scheduled, some shelf space in a couple independents and some press coming out, hustling as best I can. My social media ads have generated about 25 clicks to my website after a day. I'll reevaluate after my week is up to determine if the ROI is worth it.

I realize that it's hard to make a profit with the first book, but I believe in stretch goals and if you don't put those out, you won't hope to achieve them, so $1 profit for the first book on my own would be a high achievement.

I will be interested to see how the discounted books go after it's been out for a while.

My goals is $1 profit but to do that I'll need to sell about 350 copies. Trying to promote through FB and Twitter ads. Anybody have luck with that? Distributing through Ingram Spark to all online marketers and have had some luck with interest from local periodicals and YouTube Vlogs. Cross my fingers that this whole thing works!
