Just finished Mel Parish's Silent Lies, and planning to read the sequel next. I have recently discovered this world of indie authors, and enjoy not being alone in this struggle anymore! I was featured on Erica Graham's author page today, and will definitely keep paying it forward and connecting with fellow indie authors.

Thanks for the quick, honest feedback. That's kind of what I was thinking. Maybe I'll do an Amazon giveaway instead at some point.

Hi, I came across this thread when looking to see what others think about doing a goodreads giveaway. Does it lead to sales? Do the winners or those who enter add the book to their "want to read" lists? I really don't like giving my books away, especially the print copies, so I'm curious to hear how this does for everyone.
Sometimes genre matters, so I'll mention that I would be doing this for a kid's picture book initially, and maybe pre mother's day next year for my book for new moms.
Thanks for any advice!

i missed this, but would love to take part next time around. also interested to follow this conversation to see how this does for everyone's sales.

This thread is very helpful as I'm also looking to get more reviews. I will take the advice here, and I also had the idea to start a meetup group in my area for authors. Sending out free copies can get expensive (and I try not to give out my books for free too often via Kindle), so I think it could be fun and helpful to do an in person review meet up. Maybe you want to try this in your area too? Or, if you happen to be near Westchester, NY, join mine!

Thanks Erica, and I'm excited to be part of your blog next month.

Hi Erica,
I just emailed you with the info for my new picture book. I also "liked" your Facebook author page and am following you here on good reads. I just had an amazing night with my first author event at Barnes and Noble, but sales are still not where I'd like them to be. I think most people shop online nowadays and I need to increase my online presence. Hope we can help each other!
