201765 Hi guys,

It's Brittney, here! Just writing from Carole's GoodReads because we're already logged in on here.

So what I've been finding for errors when we transferred our information from CreateSpace to KDP is:
Some "key words" were missing as well as the "select two categories".

Now, it's something you have to really look out for, as I found that not all of the words and categories were missing... just some. So instead of having the 6 key words set up, you'll only have had 4 transferred... or instead of having two categories set up, it may have only transferred one.

That's for the most part what I have discovered. I guess it must be a glitch when things transfer... nothing's perfect.

Let me know if you need help or have any more questions. And if you discover any other issues and/or solutions, feel free to share them!

Xoxo
Brittney

201765 I'm traveling today- but I'll leave a message for her- Hopefully, she will get to it.

If not- tomorrow I'll be back in the office and I'll get her too do it.

201765 I want to thank you, Ted. I didn't know what happened to our books. We went from triple digits in paperbacks every month to a minimal amount when we changed over to KDP.

Brit has been busy updating the book information on KDP and sales have increased overnight.
201765 I just bought it. I'll read it while I'm away this week.

201765 In about a month- but we are doing the people for the Miami Book Fair now and if you want to get on the list- you may want to feature these people and they will return the favor.

201765 That was a year ago. Anita is now a steady co-host on the show.

201765 I think it will spread word of people organically

201765 What show?
Nov 08, 2018 05:53AM

201765 We are setting up a massive blog roll for everybody involved in the Miami Book Fair.
Some people have approached and want to be included. We were thinking that we'd like to continue this after the book fair and with more people- so we were thinking would anyone like to be involved?
This is how it works- You put your name on the list and everyday we will feature a different writer from the list on all our social media. Your only requirement is to post the showcased author on your media (any kind is good) and wait for your turn.
201765 hahaha

201765 lol
201765 haha Thanks, Margaret. I actually had some fun doing those. Brit jumped the gun and though the calendar started yesterday. We will re-post on our assigned day next month- but at least I don't have to do all that work again.

201765 Was it a reviewer that reviewed other books in the series? Three stars is okay- It's really better than all five star reviews- they say that it really is true.
201765 Please join me for fun games, and prizes.

201765 Hitting the big time is about the same as going to Hollywood and becoming a super star. Very few actually 'make it.'
Most writers I am in contact with end up feeling as an indie it's a supplemental income to their day jobs. We are pulling in enough with all our combined books that it could support someone (one person and barely). We use those funds to try and get notice and catch that 'lightening in a bottle.'
For me it has yielded one paid gig( the publishing job), for my son a small traditional publisher. He actually made more as an indie, but in order to get a film deal, they wanted him traditionally published. We'll see what happens.
On another note, I've gotten several speaking engagements where I received upwards of a thousand dollars per engagement. RL began the magazine and of course there are the blog radio shows. I believe there is a way to make a living with all of these things. I haven't figured it out yet.
