Say it ain't so Penni! Say it ain't so! :P
You sure you want to go down that rabbit hole? :P heh
I'm working tonight and tomorrow night, so I'll actually be starting it tonight. Wish me luck
*insert military salute here*

haaha yeah, Exactly!! :)

Alright I have a grip that I NEED to get off my chest. But it was straight up a spoiler for the ending-ish of the book so I couldn't put it in the video... So..
(view spoiler)[The Prophet. His end was SO weird and out of place. Like I understand the sentiment, the kid came to his sense and realized the prophet was insane and evil and shot him dead. But there was no real pressure on him to do this, there was MINIMAL amount of "deprogramming" done by Kirsten in this instance. Considering this is someone who's been pretty much indoctrinated to follow the prophets beliefs for so long.. it makes no sense that he decides to take this moment to shoot the man dead.
It felt like an excuse for an action scene, and a lazy way to get it to happen cause she wrote herself into a bit of a corner and couldn't get out of it. But, yeah the random turn coat on the prophet was just so wrong and I would've preferred for Kirsten/August to figure out a way out of the situation themselves instead of dumb luck and circumstance getting them out of the problem for them. (hide spoiler)]heh anyway.... you guys have anything to add? Maybe something I left out of the video, or just general observation?

*crosses fingers* Good luck, I'll be diving in soon too. P

haha a common problem we all have. :)
I look forward to what you thought of Station Eleven ma'am :)

The thread for the March Pick. Throne of Glass.
Fill us in guys, how's it going?
I still haven't started yet, It'll probably be the second week of march before I get into it. how about y'all?

If I have another reading night at work tonight like last night... I'm probably going to have to do an impromtu - AWNE group exclusive unlisted video just ranting about what I'm seeing so far lol... I feel it coming on.

.... 11 pages in ..... Station Eleven isnt boding as well. But Im trying to not nitpick the prose, as long as the story delivers Ill be cool with it.

Absolutely loved it! :) One of the first books in a long time I cant think of really anybl significant criticism. :) Though evidently if youre really big on russian history there are "liberties" taken with some facts and Arden has a note in the back explaining aome of the translations were done for the benefit of English readers, sometimes at the expense of accuracy.
but ya I loved the book

Just finished Bear and The Nightingale.. So Ill be jumping into Station Eleven now. :) well after I get off and get some sleep :p

The 24th isn't so bad. hah From what I've been told by the people who loved it, it's a pretty fast read :)
Truth be told, I'm still in The Bear and the Nightingale. :P The last few days have been a little hectic heh. But I'll be getting to it soon.
Lena - have you started yet?

heh Glad to have you aboard Liz. :)
Lena, Who knows maybe she'll like it.
I still got like 100 pages left of Bear and The Nightengale, then I'll be starting up Station Eleven :P

Alright folks, (or just Lena :P)
Here's the thread for some Station Eleven chatter.
For now, I'm heading off to Chapters right now to pick it up.

Yep, is as good a pick as any.
I found a way to justify reading Lovecraft (who I love) in this "Read books we shouldn't like" club. heh Station Eleven isn't much of a stretch. It's usually loved or hated. and I'm serious about making this a "Steve Donoghue-Inspired Pick" :P
I'm going to use that clip in my video heh

Oh man, that clip is gold :P Can't believe you went and found it. hah

Lena.. you are a goddess :)

Lol ah man, I was hoping it was a tweet. *There's less videos to have to go through than tweets* The man uploads so many haha

Question though, did he say it in a video or on twitter? :P I want to find it.

Sure! I actually have been pretty amped to read it.
We can call it a Donoghue inspired pick (Since we're not supposed to pick books we actually WANT to read) - on the grounds that he disliked it so ;)

I"m legit drawing a blank at the moment, lol I blame the overdose of Meyer. :P
