195909 For many of us, what we read informs the way we write. There have been many authors that i can point to that have shaped my own style. Ernest Hemingway, Tom Robbins, and even Stephen King have had huge impacts on me both as a reader and a writer. How about you? Is there an author that has served as a writing coach for you? How have they shaped you?

195909 Dreamcatcher by Stephen King

ugh.
195909 I recently came across an unforgettable book that I read a long time ago. It was Dreamcatcher by Stephen King. What made this book so unforgettable was how utterly awful it was.
The basic story was there are aliens who invade your body and then spread by being pooped out. I know, stupid and gross right?
Now, I have been a big Stephen King fan for a long time. As a teen I must have read everything he published and would have read a shopping list of his if he published that too. That's why this book was so disappointing.

I wonder what books you've had to suffer through? What made the book so bad and did you learn anything as a writer from it? Hit me back with your thoughts.
