Just stayed up all night to finish this book. I wanted to read it and understand the history, but I was a little concerned that it would be sordid and sensational. After finishing it, I am left with a better feeling than I expected. Yes, it is intense and sad and depressing, but it is also hopeful. It also helps me understand the truth. I appreciate the incredible amount of research and the different stories, not all of which have a tragic ending.
