Discussion thread for our Second week of The Last Child!

Yeah I was thinking 80's as well, but then I think it's a small town in NC and small towns are usually slow to progress culturally (speaking from experience growing up in a small town in NC LOL) anyway, how is everyone feeling about the book so far? Anything that really stands out for anyone? I don't know why but I envision Hunt as the cop from Stranger Things on Netflix.

Hey Everyone, I'm Melody! I'm really excited that everyone was interested in participating in this book club. I used to read alot as a kid but slowly fell out of it as I got older, and now I really hope this helps me get back into the swing of not only reading but also practicing critical thinking while having fun and thought provoking conversations. I love a little of every genre but science fiction and fantasy are my favorites.

This will be our first discussion thread. Feel free to discuss any thoughts on the first 15 chapters!
