I am reading Eldest again and I came across the part where an elf is telling Eragon about Palancar Valley's origins. (Pg 201-203 if you're curious)
Anyway he says that King Palancar and his decedents never left Palancar Valley and that Royal blood still runs through families there. That got me thinking that RORAN is likely to become the next king. Because he probably has royal blood running through him.
I think he would make a great king. Just look at the many things he does in Eldest.

I did not like the way the movie portrayed Saphira's voice. I don't think it should sound so sweet and liquidy. I think she should sound like.... the woman equivalent to Liam Neeson.

Was there a second Eragon movie? If there was it doesn't surprise me that I haven't heard of it.
I think Murtagh dies. No traitor who is also the half brother of the hero should survive till the end of the book series.Also, since Eragon himself has said that he doesn't wish to be king, I think Roran should be king. He's already shown that he is a good leader and a good fighter. So I think Roran is the one crying.
