Thisguy’s comments from the Christopher Paolini (INHERITANCE CYCLE series) group.

My guess is that the afore mentioned "vault of souls" will probably be the dragon equivelent of the elephant graveyard containing no small # of eldunari, from ancient, wild dragons. Only a fraction of which Eragon will be able to convince to help him w/ his cause... what with millenia of sittin around idle pondering existence most of them will have lost ties with their race, feel the plights of the outside world does not concern them, and see no reason to help...probably.
