189072 I’m with you about the characters. I’m all wait I know that name!?! Who the heck is he!??

Enjoying it though. It’s surprisingly pacy for such a long book.

189072 I’m finding this hard going. It’s a quick read. But I feel like the characters are more like caricatures. And it keeps giving me the romance novel shudders (not trying to be down on romance books, just not my cup of tea). “Her beauty had always made it easy for her to break rules without reprisals”, puke. Not to mention the German soldier’s tight shirt. Kind of like a mills and boon set in nazi occupied France. I’m sorry if I’m being harsh, but Isabelle feels too stupid to make a successful spy, and sadly I kind of hope she gets caught and killed. 😬

I know I’m only 100 odd pages in, so maybe I’ll get into it soon, and feel better about it. Sorry if I’m being a Debbie downer.

189072 Oh it’s really good and pacey, but oh it be so big. I’m useless in the reading challenges, I’ve been downed by Tolstoy! Man down! Man down!! 😳
