186169 About 2 years later, I'm still alive.

It's difficult to remember to use this site when life gets crazy, but I hope everyone is doing well. :)

186169 Nice to "meet" you! (About two months later.)

Glad to hear you found the group in the way you did. Hope to have some discussion here soon!

186169 Welcome, Lukas! Your list of authors is right there with some of my favorites as well. I hope you continue to find more amazing reads!

I'll have to check some of that out, Randy!

I recently finished reading Siddhartha by Herman Hesse for my first time, and have to say that it was my favorite book of 2017. Very short, and very to the point. It was one of those books that you feel that you read at the exact time that you needed it. :)

186169 Awesome! I've been having some trouble too, in finding something good enough to really get pulled into. I just started "The Godmakers" by Dan Britain after seeing it in the recommended section of a John Lilly book. Not great, not terrible so far!

186169 Randy, have you read anything from Robert Anton Wilson? Mostly all of his books are entertaining, especially the Schrodinger's Cat trilogy and the Illuminatus trilogy.

186169 Nice to meet you Randy! I would imagine that you had an interesting career. I am in the IT world now, but on the networking side.

Quantum mechanics sure is disturbing. Sci-fi in between some of the more intensive reads is always a good call.. I'll be adding Timescape to my list, thanks for that!

The first sci-fi book that comes to mind for me is VALIS by Philip K. Dick. That, and pretty much everything else from him is gold in my book. That, and Stranger in a Strange Land by Heinlein, of course. Cheers!

@S.T. Hey there! Jodorowsky is a neat guy. I haven't read any of those books you listed other than Prometheus Rising, so I'll have to add them all to my queue.

You have no idea how glad I am to see some faces popping in. I wasn't sure if making a group would make a difference, but it's nearly impossible to find the others in the real world! I'll shoot you a friend request in a minute!

I don't have FaceBook, but if there's a way for us to connect on here I'd love to check it out. Sounds like its right up my alley.
Cheers!

*edit: I've definitely seen your book before. Maybe it was on here. Coincidence...?

@Heehoo, thanks for the recommendation! Adding it to my wishlist...

It's awesome to hear that we have some of the same interests. :) I'll send you a friend request here in a sec.

186169 In case anyone joins up, share with the rest of us what brings you here. Where are you from? What are your current favorite/most important reads/writers?

I currently reside in Boise, Idaho, USA. My tastes change, but for the last 12 months I have been very interested in the works of Robert Anton Wilson, Timothy Leary, Christopher Hyatt, Joseph Campbell, Alan Watts, Terence McKenna, PKD, James Joyce, etc.
