"Adult Murder Mystery? Cover: blue with a Noose. Writer paid for fake story about how girl died (closure for family), then he theorizes how it happened, maybe drowning? Body of water. His sister had been killed. Read around 2013-2014.

Its been driving me crazy for years. Ive gone back to the library so many times to try and find it. Details could be all mixed up."

Sarah, what were the main characters' jobs and who do/ did they work for?

Does he kill his girlfriend who has become his wife?

"Adult fiction: a man & his girlfriend embezzle money from company she works at then flee the US to someplace warm; they make friends but she enjoys them more than him; he buys a boat that needs restoring; he kills his wife…

(I recall the phrase "blood on the white tile floor"); I think their house was up a long driveway and hard to reach; at end he is in a deserted restaurant to tell somebody (reporter?) his story.

I think I read this between 2015 and 2018. I also vaguely recall he hired somebody to help him restore the boat and at some point considered killing him?"

Especially Image links; Shortened links (like bitly, cuttly, tinyurl, etc. -- who knows what they're linking to); and "Hidden" text links for external websites (not Goodreads) that use an Anchor tag (so you only see text like "read more"). That's just common sense.
