What's the genre - e.g., for teens or adults? fantasy, science fiction, dystopia, steampunk, etc.?
Who is the main character?

"Searching for a contemporary mystery/thriller by a British author whose plot involves a hit-and-run accident in chapter one
In Summer 2023, my book group read "The Breakdown" by B.A. Paris. After I read the novel, I looked on Amazon.com for other books by B.A. Paris. At some point during that browsing, I stumbled across an advertisement for another book and read a sample chapter. In that first chapter, a woman shows up at the home of a friend (also female) to say that she has just hit something or someone with her car and isn't sure what she hit. At first, she suggests it may have been an animal, but it becomes increasingly clear that it was more likely a human. The motorist initially asks the friend for advice, but it was clear to me that the friend was just about to become embroiled in some sort of plan to help the friend figure out what had happened without revealing her own involvement.
I'm pretty sure the author of this book is British, and I think the non-motorist is the main character and will struggle, in the plot of the novel, with the ethics of the situation. I have looked at descriptions of all B.A. Paris's novels and am convinced she is not the author.
I would dearly love to find this book so that I can read the rest of it!"

"Fiction forgot the title has immortal, hell hounds and more
Does anyone remember the title of a book about a group of immortals who I know unknowingly watch it is to watch over sleeping Greek gods. I think the reason they are sleeping is because they went crazy and started experimenting on lesser beings.
The book I remember has one of the immortals having a pet hell hound who he rescued when it was younger. And the woman of the story has twin brothers who were born from the gods extermination."
