A woman is sent to a different country by her friend to figure out his lineage and create a family chart for him. She rents out a room above a library from a family and meets the son and falls in love with him. The son ends up leaving the country for his dream job. She stays and rents the room while she works on the chart. She meets another man in a pub who turns out to be the owner of the pub. This man gives her a lead on the family tree she is working on. She leaves that part of the country to find the lead and rents a cabin from a rich man(possibly a duke?). While she is renting out the cabin the second man searches for her everywhere. The rich/3rd man falls in love with her. She gets stuck in a cave trying to escape a bad storm and the third man finds her and they wait out the storm together. Eventually the second man finds her at the masquerade party the third man put on. She goes on a trip with the two men but she still thinks of the first man. When they arrive back to the third man’s house the first man is standing in the driveway. All three men are friends and had previously shared a woman before. They all go back to her hometown to deliver the finished family tree only to find out her friend knew all three men and had sent her there to meet them.
