To EVERYONE reading this post I changed my profile picture to the drawing I did of what I can remember of the book if this helps as I couldn’t find a way to add the image to the thread (don’t laugh it’s hard to draw something you can only just remember 🤣🤣)

Thanks for all those author bookel I went through all of them and although couldn’t find what I’m looking for stumbled upon a few childhood classics I’d forgotten to add to my bucket list of childhood books so thank you for that! Found Hubert’s hair raising adventure,how drugs the dragon lost his head and the elephant and the bad baby! Loved those as a child! SBC i went through both of those lists but no luck is there a way to upload my picture I drew of my memory? Thank you both so far for all your help makes me feel like I’m find it!

Thinking it must be from a library or school as my parents don’t remember it and they read me all my books as a child

Hi thanks for your reply I will look further into the Colin you offered! Illustrators that remind me of it is definitely Maurice Sendak.that sort of strange children’s book vibe as outside over there or when the wind changed.

My name is Flora I’m from New Zealand.im trying to remember a book from my child hood with not much information and was wondering if you could help me.i was born 1989 so I would of been reading this book maybe 1996.All I can remember is this children’s book that each page the illustration had a sort of like ribbon or material that wrapped around the actual picture and it would even be on another page the ribbon/material could turn into things and work such as a train.my first memory of the ribbon told me that it was dark purple with yellow stars but then a second memory of the pictures tells me it was an off red with yellow stars.i remember the pictures were amazing.i even drew a random picture trying to jog my memory i could send if that helps.iv tried so many other avenues and haven’t had any luck.anything would be appreciated
