Selina’s comments from the S.S. Rebel Alliance (Silent Sustained Reading Discussions) group.

This theme is shown through my book "Still Alice" when she is talking amongst her children and they are discussing possible outcomes for the future. All her children, especially Lydia have so much hope in the fact that they will have a cure and Alice will be okay.

In the book " Still Alice", Alice has a daughter named Lydia who is very different from the rest of the family. She is rebellious and unlike everyone else she wants to be an actress. Lydia and Alice have their ups and downs but as Alice gets sick and her condition worsens. Lydia soon realizes how important it is for her to stick by her family and help her mom in her time of need.

I am reading Still Alice. I am at the point where Alice has been diagnosed with Alzheimers, for a successful psychologist this is a really big change for her. She is so used to being one of the most intelligent people known and now she can't even remember where she is or what she has to teach. Her life has changed tremendously.
