Re reading this chapter is upsetting when you know what will happen but it's also one of the best. GRRM piles on layers of misdirection by just telling us all Bran's dreams and why he loves climbing.

Catelyn comes across so much smarter in the books. When her mind isn't clouded with emotions she makes the right decisions
Also, I never realised how much of the Jon Snow parentage groundwork was laid in these few opening chapters. "He is my blood" kinda tells you everything

I loved how Drogo was sensitive to Dany at the end after all the barbarian behaviour during the wedding.
Reading this now my first thought is does Illyrio have an inkling of what will happen handing dragon eggs to Dany

I think this is where I first thought Jon was awesome. His relationship with Arya is just sweet.
And in regard to Catelyn this is where for me I started to dislike her. I get that she's grieving for Bran and she's always disliked Jon because it's a constant reminder of Ned's alleged cheating but still she was so harsh.
And Ria that connection to Catherine of Aragon really makes sense, I hope GRRM meant it
