Spoiler alert. I recently finished reading World of Ice and Fire and enjoyed the illustrations. If season 8 of the tv series will be shown in 2019, that could mean that Winds of Winter will be released shortly after that. I think the Dunk and Egg books will go all the way to when Aegon V is king and celebrating the birth of great grandson Rhaegar in a party in Summerhall. I think Ser Duncan, as the Lord Commander of the King's Guard will also die in that conflagration as alluded to in World of Ice and Fire.

Rhaegar and Lyanna could be secret lovers torn apart by Aerys' hate for the Starks. Rhaegar married Elia but when Lyanna was promised to Robert, it was too much for him so they eloped. The three Kingsguard probably know they are guarding a Targaryen heir being born on the the Tower of Joy. Next season of the tv series might have more of the back story to be revealed through Bran's dreams. I aim to complete reading the first five books by then. I only finished reading the first one .
