176836 Hi T.Y. I don't see a link to your blog. Would you mind posting it? I'm very interested in reading it.

176836 Welcome. It's great to have a new member.

176836 I am having great difficulty getting through the lessons. I believe the problem may be that I am thinking too literally.

For example: Lesson 14, Page 23

"God did not create and so it is not real.

As you may know, we have just had a blizzard here on the East Coast.

Yesterday I inserted blizzard into the sentence. But how could that be true? We did in fact have a blizzard and there was much snow. While God did not create the blizzard, the snow was real,

176836 I haven't been active in this group recently because much of what I've been reading I can connect with. Today it occurred to me, that our personal connections within the reading might be beneficial to someone else. In other words, it may give us a pause for thought, no matter how simplistic the relationship may seem.

Chapter 7: 2. If you teach both sickness and healing, you are both a poor teacher and a poor learner.

This resonates with me in relation to my teenage daughter who is going through a very difficult time in her life. I do not always no how to help her with what knowledge I have, because what she experiences today, is much different than what I experience at her age. I give responses and advice, that she cannot relate to and argues with me about because of the generation gap between us. I find myself not "hearing" her because I fail to let go of my own sick thinking and discount the information (growth and insight) that she may be able to offer me. In other words, I have been using what i perceive to be my position as a "wiser and more knowing" adult to override her current emotions, thoughts, and experiences,

I think that from the pot of soup, you are ladled out to either be eaten by your ego, or consumed with appreciation and the opportunity to move through your body appreciatively and a sense of the nourishment (in this instance it would be growth), that would make you healthier (again, in this instance) in soul and mind set.

176836 A topic index can be found at www.facimoutreach.org. I find this to be a very helpful resource and highly recommend visiting the site.

176836 I found a website, courseinmiracle.com, that provides searchable text and a list of terms. I thought this might be helpful.

176836 As I'm reading, I am able to see how the way I have been living from my ego has been affecting my relationships. I understand now that I associate giving with sacrifice. I do not have a "real and lasting sense of abundance" so I am not charitable.I can see now that I withhold love, judge, and feel insecure because of my ego.

176836 Ramno, can you tell me what chapter this is in?

Thank you.

176836 I just watched the first of the four videos you recommended above. How helpful! To have the text broken down and explained line by line is an excellent way to reach a deeper understanding. I'm moving on to the other videos now.

176836 Thank you. I'll watch them tonight.

176836 I did go through the video list, but none of the titles indicated to me which videos would be the right ones to watch. Do you happen to know the names of any of them?

Thank you.

176836 I'm currently reading this in Chapter three and am having difficulty putting it together. I've read it three times and it leaves me confused. Has anyone read it who may be able to help me see it more clearly?
Nov 28, 2015 10:59AM

176836 Thank you Ramon for clarifying that. I actually just read what you cited above today. I also read, "...you are perfectly stable as God created you." Here the emphasis is that God, not I, was my creator.

176836 The course states, "You have every reason to feel afraid as you perceive yourself. This is why you cannot escape from fear until you realize that you did not and could not create yourself."

Does this refer to create as in formation into a human body, or creating the person you are at the present?

Any thoughts?

176836 Nadine I'm sorry that I am not able to offer you any insight on these things at this time. I am currently reading chapter 3. Perhaps Ramon has something to offer.
