Chapter Three

In this chapter, Deacon drags Frankie to his office telling her that he needs to talk to her since he leaves tomorrow. Deacon asks her if she’s happy with Andrew. Does she love him? Frankie asks if Deacon thought the engagement was too soon and he tells her that no, she shouldn’t marry him. The fight quickly escalates to Frankie telling him that she doesn’t need his permission to marry Andrew. And then there’s THE KISS. Deacon pushes Frankie up against the wall and kisses her like there’s no tomorrow. Sadly, they are interrupted by Andrew. Frankie leaves the room just before Andrew comes in and he sees the picture of Frankie getting tattooed on the mantle and is not happy. Frankie comes in before Andrew does something stupid like try to get it away from Deacon. Frankie tells Andrew to head downstairs and she’ll be right behind him. Her and Deacon get in to an argument again about why he’s never said anything about loving her before, why tonight? Deacon tells her to stay with him, but the chapter ends with Frankie returning to the party and to Andrew.

What were your thoughts on Chapter Three?
How hot was that kiss? Were you mad that Andrew interrupted them?
Was Frankie’s anger at Deacon justified that he waited until tonight to confess his love for her?

Chapter Two

In Chapter One, Andrew proposed to Frankie and she said yes. Deacon isn’t sure what happened and is struggling to deal with it. Indie gets in his face and tells him that he needs to man up and do something about this because they will lose Frankie if she marries Andrew. This is when Deacon realized that Indie knows that he’s in love with Frankie. To draw attention away from the engagement, Indie suggests Frankie opens presents. When they get to Deacon’s gift, we find out he got her a charm for her bracelet and a gorgeous, custom-made necklace. Andrew is pissed and tells Deacon it’s inappropriate to give another man’s fiancée jewelry. Deacon points out that he gets her jewelry every year and won’t stop just because Andrew is a part of his life. The chapter ends with Deacon dancing with Frankie and trying to figure out how to tell her that he loves her more than just as a friend.

What were your thoughts on Chapter Two?
Did you love the way Indie gets in Deacon’s face and tells him to man up and tell Frankie how he feels?
What did you think of Deacon telling Andrew that just because he’s in Frankie’s life, it wasn’t going to change the fact that he gets her jewelry every year for her birthday?

Chapter One
We open up with Deacon getting ready for Frankie’s birthday party, which her BFF Indie has put together. We also meet Deacon’s brothers, Sonny and Mav. Deac, his brothers and Indie all dislike Andrew, Frankie’s boyfriend, immensely. Two hours in to the party, Frankie arrives after being delayed by Andrew. To say Deacon is unhappy would be an understatement, but we find out that he will do anything for Frankie, even tolerate her boyfriend. However, it’s quite a shock to everyone when Andrew proposes to Frankie in the middle of the party and she says yes.

What were your thoughts on Chapter One?

Let's get this read along started with the prologue!

The prologue is short but certainly packs a punch! When we first meet Deacon he is in the middle of getting a bj when Frankie's ringtone starts blaring from his phone. It's been two months since he's heard from her. At this point, we don't know why.

What were your thoughts when reading the prologue?
Were you intrigued? Did you want to know what was going on?
Were you liking Deacon at this point without knowing anything else about him?
