I am looking for help with the title and an author of a book I started reading about 15 years ago, but never finished.

I believe the title of the book was simply the young woman's first name. It is an account of her life in either Africa or the Middle East - she describes her female genital mutilation (FGM) and her abusive arranged marriage as a teen to a much, much older man. I would like to find this book again to reread it and finish it. Any help in tracking this one down would be much appreciated!
