I've been meaning to (eager to) read this title since maybe even before 2023; why I hadn't I don't know). So yes, I am definitely here for this. 😀
Just-finally- received this as Library e-book this AM, jumping right in as soon as I finish Northwoods, so should be later today, or tomorrow. This will be my third Scalzi read, following The Kaiju Preservation Society early in 2023 (I adored), and A Very Scalzi Christmas (delightful) a few weeks ago. I plan to read quite a few of his others as well, soon: sort of a "Scalzi catch-up."
Yes, I'll be rereading. Will probably start November 2 or 3 as I'm reading Century Rain for my first read of #SciFiMonth. I adored House of Suns when I first read it, so I'm eager to jump in again.
I nominate The Salvation Sequence by Peter F. Hamilton, a Trilogy:Salvation
Salvation Lost
The Saints of Salvation
So far the SF (or SFF) I've read are:Trident's Forge (read Book 1, The Ark end of August);
Tides of Fire SF Thriller;
Permafrost (Group Read, and Must-Read Author);
Lacuna's Point Cosmic SFF/Horror;
Audio of Alpha Wave.
Reading Alpha Wave, 751 pp., and
XX, 992 pp.
Just read this evening, stunned speechless....AR is just so good!! Every title of his reiterates for me why he is a never-miss author!I'll have more to say; at the moment my mind is so stretched with all the Thought and Imagination and (almost forgot to spoil) (view spoiler)
I'm in (and will be for November 's House of Suns, as AR is one of my absolutely-never-miss authors!
My first 2023 read was Children of Memory, which I adore (and will reread first in Series and read second), but I only got to 16% and read 6 others in the meantime. (including catching up on some past entries in Charles Stross' The Laundry Files Series). Started The Thing in the Snow last night, adoring it! (January 3 release)
June was a SciFi Readathon at another group, and for July I have set myself a personal Challenge: Einstein in Fact and Fiction. (It's also Aliens/UFO's at another group.) So in addition to some Review books, I'm heavily into Physics and Quantum Physics this month. So far:Upgrade, THE LAST HOUSE ON EARTH,
Einstein's Bridge, From Beyond, A Train Through Time by Richard Blanco (ARC, SF Fantasy),
Lovecraft in a Time of Madness, Twistor.
I've probably loaded up enough suggestions to last till 2023!:))
I purchased this 28 October when it was a potential BOTM, knowing I would read it soon whether or not. I first "discovered " AT during Space Opera September, with Children of Time (which Today is a Kindle Daily Deal!). He immediately became a top favorite author. (Today I bought The Expert System's Brother and pre-ordered The Expert System’s Champion, so yeah, a top favorite:) .)I read 20% last night, and as well as I can say without spoilering, there is incredible Synchronistic connection with Evolution, which I purchased on New Year's Eve, and commenced New Year's Day. Reading both is akin to turning a prism to view at a different angle.
Additionally, I ADORE The Doors of Eden!!
I am so excited to read this! I knew of AT, but 2020 was my first reading (the incredible Children of Time). I'll start on Doors right away!
I read this fantastically riveting and terrifying novel on Election Day and the following day, (view spoiler) Nonetheless, I found the novel utterly fascinating (and yes, realistic) and am so pleased it is a Group choice so I was inspired to read it [had owned it for quite a while:)].
