
I love the Simon Greene Nightside series. It's brain candy but I love it.

The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins

I just started Let the Great World Spin by Colum McCann. It is a series of character stories that uses the World Trade Center tightrope walk in the 70's as the framing piece. Very good so far.

I'm going to go with It by Stephen King. Aside from being a great story he demonstrates such great character development that you feel like you are part of the children's group. Second on my list would be Crime and Punishment by the already mentioned Dostoevsky.
