Do you know there are several books in the Anne of Green Gables series? All worth a read. Anne Shirley was my hero growing up. Another book with a strong young girl at its centre is The Secret Garden

Hello,I'm new to the group. On the subject of Christmas: have you got a Christmas wish book list? Mine features, amongst others, Doctor Sleep by Stephen King, Dolly: A Ghost Story by Susan Hill and Chris Simms' latest detective novel set in Manchester, UK (where I'm from). I ask for and get books every Xmas, despite having hundreds of books not yet read already!
