I just started "Mariana"
, by Susan Kearsley. Her book covers are beautiful, and compelling. I hope the story is as good.

It depends on how boring the books is. If it's mind numbing, I stop reading it. If I'm curious about part of the story line, I skim it.

Hello, I'm new to this group. I love to read, and I've ingested thousands of books over the decades. I love fiction. Saying all that, I do not think that all books should be turned into movies. Take J.R.R.Tolkein's "Lord of the Rings" books. In "Return of the King" movie, the end was utterly incorrect as written by the esteemed author. I sat there in the theater, with my mouth open when "Arwen" turns up alive at the end! In the books, she dies, and is not resurrected. Like many books, I find that the novels are much better than the movies. I could go on, but it would take forever to list them all.
