161319 What about books you've started, but because they read as if they weren't seen by a copyeditor or proofreader, let alone an editor, you just had to put down?

161319 Got to admit it . . . I would've loved to have edited or even proofread any (all) of the Harry Potters!

What about you?

161319 I haven't broken down and made any stamps yet. I use the typewriter, pencil, and comment box tools mostly. My "penciling" no longer really looks wobbly. So proud :D.

When you're marking up a pdf, do you use the stamps?

161319 (whatever page you land on) . . . type the fifth sentence on the left page.

Insert the book/author.

161319 I'm a copyeditor and proofreader with more than 20 years' experience working as both a freelancer and full-time in-house editorial (sort of) jack-of-all trades.

Attention to grammatical order has always been my thing. The love of reading came first, and then it was a natural follow that I started paying attention to style and word choice.

I have two sons who are both avid readers and love to catch typos, misspellings . . . anything problematic in a book. They're in the teen years, both parts difficult and delightfully "dance to the beat of their own drum" excited about everything. They're my world.

Finally, after several years of reading solely for work and not much for myself, I've decided to get back on the pleasure-reading horse and find whatever strikes my fancy (whether it's something I've read before or a book I've just been introduced to) and inundate myself.

Coffee appreciator, long-work-commuter, busy mom . . . book person and editor. It's me.
