I guess I am way too late - tho if that's somewhat not deceased I'd love to claim Warren Worthington aka Angel. He was in the comics one of the first X-Men :)

well, I may be way too late on here - though I've read through the comments and y'all ideas made me think of something. As you might know, Warren Worthington II - the father of Warren Worthington III aka Angel / Archangel, is against mutants. So I was thinking of maybe he could be the one who arranged a kidnapping of the teachers, trying to convince the world around that Magneto has done this and that all mutants are bad; which leads him to continue to spread his vaccine to turn every mutant back in humans.
