I don't know why but I keep having this mental image of Penryn being a key factor in defeating the angels half cocked plan on getting their brothers out of this proverbial jail that they've been in. In this 'vision' of sorts that I keep having, Paige and her mother are standing side by side, looking up at something. The world has gone back to what it was, to the extent that it can. The angels have departed and the children of man are once again on their own. There are no cherubs on valentines day. No one puts angels up at the top of their Christmas tree and the entire world is in a religious turmoil after all the devastation.
After Paige and her Mom turn away, my vision pans like a camera and lands on a bronze statue in the middle of a square. The statue depicts a woman with her hand on the hilt of a sword at her back, fierce eyes trained towards the sky. At the foot of the statue sits a plaque in honor of -Penryn the Great-, "The Wrath of the Daughter of Man." Forever immortalized.
I really hope Penryn doesn't die but JEEZ this mental image wont go away :( I need this book so I can stop grieving over something that hasn't even happened! Help?
Though I don't think that Penryn is in any way a superhuman/supernatural cross-breed, I would love to see the Nephilim thing fleshed out.
Oh! This song pops in my head EVERY TIME Penryn's Mom pops up...Makes me laugh :) They're Coming to Take Me Away- Napoleon XIV
You have been forewarned, I have some pretty strange taste in music :/ My weirdest playlist hits while reading:I'll Follow You by Shinedown

In the case that there isn't anything supernatural going on with Mommy dearest, which I don't think there is, this scene is just heartbreaking. It's unbelievable what the loved ones of a schizophrenic go through.
Susan Ee did such a wonderful job here. It's horrible. But you can see, despite the resentment Penryn must feel towards her mother for so many things, that her selflessness goes very deep. This, what happened in this scene, has happened so many times before and Penryn just takes it for the most part.
I love Penryn. She is without a doubt my fictional girl crush. :)
I'm not going to type the whole scene out, I hope you guys don't mind. :)My favorite scene, believe it or not, is in Angelfall when Penryn runs up to Raffe with her arms outstretched, ready to embrace him and he just kind of looks at her. Then she drops her arms, as if you could casually just pretend like you didn't get horribly rejected.
I felt bad for Penryn but it was just WAY too funny.

I wondered is maybe Raffe felt protective by instinct. That's what I thought at first anyway... I thought maybe angels just have a natural need to protect humans. That was until I saw what happens later. lol. Who knows! The angelic group are very confusing creatures. I want to know MORE! :)
It was early March of 2013, and I remember sitting in bed just marveling my new (very belated) Christmas gift from my boyfriend, now fiance. He'd bought me a Kindle Fire and it was completely unexpected. I was always complaining that the thrift store never had any of the new books and new books were just too expensive when I had to choose between them or another day of food. We were very financially tight at the time and for some reason, God love him, my boyfriend took his commission bonus from his new job and bought me my sleek new toy. Because I couldn't wait to check out the books on amazon, I went straight to the digital bookstore and started cruising through the deals. I found Angelfall, which at the time only $3 and it sounded pretty awesome. I read it in 24 hours and I have been lost in the world of Penryn ever since.
