This is one I haven't been able to get hold of yet, but since you mention English Language Learners...would it work well in a 7-12 high school? (I'm assuming yes since it's on a YALSA list?) I'm working with a school for refugee and recent immigrants and am always looking for graphic novels that hit both the interest and language level.

Best superhero comic of the year for me, no question. I'm so glad to see it not only the GGNT list, but Quick Picks as well.

I was so impressed by the utterly immersive description of summers on the island, and the careful treatment of class and race and prejudice and privilege. But the twist wasn't entirely twisty to me, and the ending was not entirely satisfying, so I have pretty mixed feelings about this book. It's so skillful, but left me a little cold.
If you LOVED We Were Liars, I'd love to hear from you. What did I miss?

I'm still thinking about this book, months and months after I finished reading it. So crazy, so ambitious, so impossible to describe. I don't know that it was my most favorite book of 2014, but it certainly made a lasting impression (and I did love it, absolutely. A lot.)
So happy to see it honored by the Printz Committee.

I read and adored this book, and even though I don't really have time to read it again right now, I want to. And I could count it towards the challenge so... If you've listened to the audio version, what did you think? I know it's "Amazing"--should I listen to it this time around?
