This series is a re-telling of the Hades/Persephone story. I don't particularly like that myth, but this story make Hades very sympathetic and even kind. You cheer for him when Persephone decides to stay.

Many books are re-tellings or derivatives of previously told tales. What is you favorite, please name original too, and why?

I'm reading
The Dream Theives by Maggie Stiefvater. It had bridgebookitis, but the series started out so well that even a bridge book in it has kept me reading.

I just finished reading The Children Act by Ian McEwan. I generally don't care for McEwan's books, but this one gave me much food for thought - and I think it would make a great Book Discussion book. (See my review under Librarian's Favorites.)
