Hahahaha Claire!!! I actually had to put the book down when she threw that pee bucket at him, I was just like what?!! That old guy still gives me the creeps, I think I had nightmares about him, especially when he took her keys...
I know what you meant by slow and sometimes Ruby's character annoyed me, but I think that the author was truly trying to give an accurate depiction of what a fifteen year old girl is like. I really enjoyed the fact that she didn't turn into this tough bad arse character straight away as you often see in Dystopians, but I think it will be much more gradual process, which I think will be more realistic. Also, I nearly cried when they had to leave the big dog (whose name I have already forgotten), it broke my heart but I would have done it earlier probably.

Thanks so much for posting! I'm loving discussing the book!! :D xo

156940 Jemma (Aussie BookWorm) This. Book. Is. Epic.
WOW!!
So I read The Rain in just over 24 hours. Yepp, it was that good!!
The things I liked most were the uniqueness of the storyline, plus the whole swear words turned into butterflies!!
I didn't enjoy how mean she was to Darius in the beginning. I mean, I know that the author was trying to build that whole hate-turned-love thing, but I just found it to be so petty.
