154447 This is possibly the best news I've heard all week!! Now I just have to get my husband to watch X-Files with me from the beginning. . . . . .

154447 Who here uses playlists or soundtracks for their book or character they're writing about?

I just started doing this. Right now Dakota's soundtrack consists of The X-Files Soundtrack, 30 Seconds to Marks, Our Lady Peace, and Anberlin. All dark and moody.

Does this help anyone else get into their character's mindset?

154447 Ha! My husband is more of a Weird Al, Mystery Science Theater kind of geek. I am too, but I also love LOTR, Stephen King, Ray Bradbury, etc. I"m working on converting him to the LOTR. He says he likes them, but he didn't know the difference between Arwen and Eowyn. *facepalm*

Riley wrote: "That's the advantage to marrying a woman that's just as much of a geek as I am. I mean, can you go wrong with a woman who lists her favorite movies as "Starwars, Lord of the Rings, and Shashank Red..."

154447 I'm jealous! My husband likes to read my books without any prior knowledge. I try to bounce my ideas off of my almost 2 year old son, but he just says "Daddy!" or "Mater!" or "Nas!" (that means fruit snacks in his world apparently)

Riley wrote: "Or just come on to the board and ask for help. Truthfully, I don't know what more you can do....though I'm always open to help anyone who feels stuck. I <3 to brainstorm. Why my wife and I make suc..."

154447 What if we just started a new discussion under this group? List a date and time and whoever wants to can log into Goodreads and chat away? I thought about Skype, but not everyone has Skype and it'd be a pain to switch id's and all that.

If anyone else has a better idea, please let me know!

154447 Pick one and I'll pass it along :)

154447 Facebook and Twitter are both good. Pinterest is one that gets overlooked often.

154447 Lighthearted banter :) Not bickering. . .at least I don't think so.

154447 I like most of it. The colors are great. But since you have a real girl and real images of the buildings, using graphic images for the car and rose (unless my eyes are playing tricks on me) threw me off a little bit. But overall it's an attractive and eye catching cover.

154447 I'll ignore that awkward comment. . .

But yes, you seem perfectly content to call things as they are. :)

154447 It's too late for me on that one. Have you seen my Featured Authors list recently?

Perhaps I need to find a way to be a little meaner. . .I could pretend that Goodreads is my ex boyfriend!!
