Does daughter of smoke and bone have a love triangle in it? Just about to start that book, because I want to, and would love to fulfill this category :)

I got really lucky and found "A Streetcar Named Desire" at the library's used book store for $1. Maybe you could check out any used bookstores in your area and see if they have any type of plays?

For this category, I read The Notebook, because I heard it was sad (never seen the movie). It made me cry, but no book has ever made me cry more than A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness (original idea by Siobhan Dowd). There was very little time while reading that book I wasn't crying. I read that 2 years ago though, so I'm not gonna use it for this challenge, but just a suggestion ;)

Oh yea, the trilogy thing - that was another rule I had for me, had to be a true trilogy. Trying to stay very strict to the guidelines set by the challenge, the only I semi took liberty with was Ultraviolet for the book with a color in the title. I didn't feel like the Ultraviolet was a true color to be able to count, but after reading it I felt like it belonged there. The whole book was about colors and seeing colors for words, and the tastes of colors... so I felt justified using it in my color category.

I'm only using one book per category as well. I've switched some around to fit different categories, but I will not list the same book twice on my list.

In cold blood is one of my favorite books, but I wanted to give a new a try - I've been meaning to read Ann Rule's The Stranger Beside Me for probably 10 years, so I figured this was the perfect time to dive in. I'm about 100 pages in, it's good, but a little slow moving so it'll probably take me a little longer to read, but I'm glad to be checking it off my to-read list

I found a book with mostly 1 star ratings on here, and on amazon. It's called "The Girl in the Coffee Shop" by Caedem Marquez. Hopefully it's not too terrible, but it's got a 2.28 rating, one of the lowest I could find on here... I'm sure there are tons with lower ratings though, just must have missed them.

As far as favorites for this challenge so far: Winkie by Clifford Chase really took me by surprise and I completely loved it, and Ultraviolet by R.J. Anderson had amazing descriptions was an overall very cool story with some new ideas. I have read a lot of good books, but those 2 stand out for me.

Anyone have any love triangle recommendations? I have already read Hunger games. And Twilight. I know there are thousands more, just wondered what everyone else is reading/has read? :)

I grew up 20 minutes outside of Atlantic City, so I was going to read Boardwalk Empire, but my mom sent me this book today (She still lives in the house I grew up, I've moved out of state), that is by a local author that takes place in my actual hometown!! I know it might seem silly, and it's not the type of book I would normally read, but I'm so excited to be able to check that off the list and feel like I really earned it haha. Plus, it means I get to go out of my reading comfort zone again.
For place I've always wanted to visit I'm reading Heartsick which takes place in Portland, OR but for much longer than I've wanted to visit Oregon I've wanted to go to Italy or England, so books may be rearranged to different categories later.

Yea, I was kind of thinking that too Heather, that a 3 star average rating isn't really a book with bad reviews. Maybe I'll just leave this category until a little bit later in the year

Is everyone looking for under 3 star rating? I was trying to find one with under a 2, but then looking through some other lists of bad books I thought I'd try one a celebrity wrote you know that'll be bad haha. My library has L.A. Candy by Lauren Conrad, it's got 3.37 stars on goodreads, but I just saw so many 1 stars in amongst the 3,000 reviews... Do you think over 3 is kinda cheating? Have you guys all decided what books your gonna read for this one?

I went to the library and went to the C section in fiction, and tried to find one with a first name that begins in C as well. There was one with my initials (CC). It's a book called Winkie by an author named Clifford Chase. I have never heard of the book or author, but I figured a big part of this challenge is stepping out of your comfort zone and reading something you might normally not pick up. So I'm gonna give it try after I finish my current challenge book.

I am actually in the middle of The Two Towers, after finished Fellowship in January, but it's definitely not a quick read. Since I have heard so much good things about daughter of smoke and bone I may check that out and see which trilogy I finish first. I'm sure the other books can be applied to other things if not used under the trilogy category ;)

I am SOOOO behind everyone else with books. I've gotten 6 so far :(...
A book published this year: Life. Love. Beauty. by Keegan Allen.
A memoir: Everything That Remains by the minimalists
A Graphic Novel: Sandman.(I have actually read a few for this category, but I'll just go with Sandman)
A play: A Streetcar named Desire
A book based on or turned into a TV show: Guide for Crime fighting for the totally Unqualified (TV show PSYCH)
A banned book: Lolita

I actually checked The Notebook out of the library today for this category. I haven't seen the movie, but heard it's a tearjerker, so hopefully the book will be as well.
