I would also like to see categories that can include non-fiction books. I found that I was reading a lot of those, but I had to put them all under wild cards because I couldn't really fit them into any other categories. Some I could stretch to fit, but many I couldn't. Just a thought!

Two books I read so far this year fit into this category - Breakfast with Buddha by Roland Merullo, and Wild by Cheryl Strayed. I ended up using Wild to fill this, because I was able to put Breakfast with Buddha into an author from your own state (Roland Merullo and I are actually from the same city!)

I read "Pit Bull" by Bronwen Dickey. She has had tons of backlash over the topic, due to people being fearful of the breed. I would have read this book anyway (I bought it as soon as it came out as I am a giant dog fan) but it happened to fit right into this category for me.

I read The Jungle by Upton Sinclair. It's been on my to-read list for about 10 years but it's always gotten pushed down. I believe it was published in 1906.

Not sure if this has been filled by now, but I plan on reading The Neverending Story! loved the film growing up and it has been on my to-read list for a couple of years now

Hi! I am Ellen and I live in the Boston, MA area. I am a registered dietitian and I specialize with eating disorders. I have always been a big reader and as a result, I have collected MANY books in my book shelf that I have not gotten around to reading yet - I am hoping this challenge helps me get around to picking some of them up, as well as encouraging me to seek out books that I may not have read otherwise. Aside from reading, I love dogs and I have a 1 year old lab/rat terrier mix named Apollo!
