151076 Me either. It’s why I keep complaining, pushing, forcing issues regarding support. They sent a review form whenever a ticket is closed. The two I’ve dealt with on this issue haven’t closed the ticket, nor followed up.

At some point, we’re going to need to launch a social media campaign where we all raise the flag on what’s going on. It’s the only way to get their attention. And, it’s not by posting to Amazon.
151076 Michelle is leading the Buddy Read of this series, beginning with the first book in February.

About the Series
This series began with the Shadows trilogy where the author wanted to explore paranormal elements within the mystery genre. FBI Profiler Noah Bishop was the continuing character in the trilogy but as a secondary one, though he’s the primary in the third book. It spawned the Special Crimes Unit to continue the stories.

151076 Okay. I decided to give it one more shot. Here’s what I sent:

“This is a major technical issue you can’t resolve. It needs to be escalated to your technology support team. It is a coding issue. I don’t know how else to explain the problem. The tool is supposed to add up the individual goals and actual results, accumulate the totals to arrive at a group result. As you can see, it’s showing Zero when there are lots of individual results.

Please trust me on this. You can’t fix it. The tool is broken.”

This is the reply I received:

“Hi Jonetta,

Thank you for writing in. Could you kindly elaborate on your query so that we may look into this?

This information will allow me to better assist you today.

Looking forward to your response.“

This is what I sent to get this response:

“ I reported this a few weeks ago but got an incorrect response (thought I was referring to the Reading Challenge.

This tool has not worked properly for months now. It will update the individual progress but not accumulate the group progress.

See the example in one of my groups:”

*sigh*

I say ditch.

The irony is they don’t understand how the site works. Every week I’m having to send a request to take an ASIN out of deleted status for a Kindle or Audible edition. I actually had to tell one of them that what they were telling me to do violated the rules in the Librarian Manual.

Amazon has gotten rid of the seasoned, formerly paid staff that managed this stuff and have everything going through a call center. They’re managing it for technology only, not an interactive site that has ripple effects for any change. It started with that foul change to the book page, which makes no sense whatsoever. It has so many flaws I’ve lost count. I only use it to land and go to the list of editions page to make any changes.

Maybe…I just started one that I put on my shelf in 2014! I think it would be subjective…you look at it and have zero energy to read it in the next month.

No need to do it just for me, I was just wondering."

Why don’t I set it up and at the end of the year, members can post their totals and I’ll add them up? Would that work for everyone? I miss the challenge.

151076 The challenge feature is broken and has been since the middle of last year. I can set it up so that you can track your individual performance but it isn’t accumulating the group results.

I reported it to GR but the numnut thought I was talking about the Reading Challenge. I corrected him, asking that it be escalated to their tech group and haven’t heard a thing. Funny, I opened another request, this time with links to the problem and maybe they’ll address it.

If everyone wants to do it right now for individual tracking, I’d be more than happy to do so. Let me know.
151076 I read this years ago and enjoyed it!

151076 1. Did you complete and/or get up to date in any series this month?
I got up to date in two series:
Fitzpatrick Christmas by Catherine Walsh
Steinbeck & Reed by Jess Lourey

2. Did you start any new series? If so, what were they? Will you continue?
I started three new series (not counting Lucas Davenport):
Improbable Meet-Cutes by various authors, which I don’t plan to continue. I read the one by Christina Lauren, loved it but it was the only one I was interested in.
Redwood Coast Rescue by Tonya Burrows and will definitely continue.
In the Wild by Molly O’Keefe, will definitely continue.

3. Did you move forward in any series (that you didn’t complete or finish)? How many?
I moved forward in two series:
Fatal by Marie Force (reread)
Lovelight by B. K Borison

4. Any standout or 5 star books read? Why did you love it/them?
First Lie Wins & Tom Lake were both outstanding. They lived up to the hype and Meryl Streep was just wonderful as a narrator…no surprise there.

5. Overall summary of your reading month?
I finished 11 books and am thrilled with that. Most were really satisfying reading experiences with one disappointment. Hope to keep this up!
First Lie Wins by Ashley Elston Tom Lake by Ann Patchett

15 books read is great, Lauren! And, you rocked in your series reading.

FYI, I hate when an author doesn’t finish off a series.
