If you'll ask me, the best romance books, that I know of, are the ones by Nicholas Sparks. he is definitely the king of romance and all his stories are very different from each other.
I'd recommend:
The Notebook, Dear John, Safe Haven and The Lucky One.

Spark's books are not sleazy and I really like the way he presents the story... And his books never have cheap meaningless sex.

Hahaha! I understand... Generally, even I'm not interested in such books, but my dad's name is Napoleon so wanted to read about him :)
And My great-great Grandfather was in the German Army and fought for Hitler, so I wanted to read about him as well...

Mystery/Thriller/Crime #9... so I'm a total bookiopath... hahah!

Starting with next 4: Casual Vacancy, Only Time Will Tell (re-read) and Mr. Standfast and Hercule Poirot stories :)

I'm halfway Greenmantle and now I'm starting to enjoy it a lot :)
The starting part was a bit slow but the story has picked up a great pace now...
I'm really very thankful to you Dagny to introduce me to such a brilliant series :)
