4) Manga Classics: Jane Eyre - 5/5The only Manga Classic I've read so far that made me want to read the original classic.
I'm so behind in this challenge. I'll have to catch up soon!#2 A Witch's Concern - 4/5
A good book; loved the story and the narration, though the guy's part was a bit odd, I still enjoyed the main narrative, one that was of the female protagonist.
Dagny wrote: "Yes! Here's the link. But don't read too far if you don't know how it ends. I accidentally read a little too far and now I know how the film ends. It's ok though as I'm now curious to know if the movie followed the book right through or if they gave it a different ending.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Everyth...
I watched about half of the movie (might as well have gone on and watched it all now that I know, lol). It was great. "
Wow, the movie sounds good and the trailer was awesome too! Love the cast, the heroine is so beautiful!
Yes, you should have! Lol. Hope it comes again soon. I'll also have to figure out a way to watch the movie once our read will be over.
When you'll get the book, do flip the pages slowly till the end and have a peak inside... the book is really different and beautiful from the inside... there are scribbles everytwhere and the lettering is in many fonts.
I'm in too! I opened the book and had a peak and... this books looks so amazing!! I mean literally! Did anyone else see the inside of this book yet?
Shashank wrote: "I think I'm in. My exams got over and I have to pick up the pace. Though I have to arrange a copy. My favorite site is down, lmao."Hope you can find one in time for the buddy read!
Dagny wrote: "I'll be participating. The movie was shown on one of the channels a couple of weeks ago during a free preview. I watched the first half or so to get an idea of what the book might be like and it lo..."There is a MOVIE??? I had no idea! OMG... I need to check it out.
BTW, how was it (howevermuch you watched?)

Yay, you read this one! And I'm glad you liked it :) I agree, the characteriztion was what really shone through in this book. I also loved the epilogue with narration that told what might have happened if things had happened differently.
I'm planning to read more books by Moriarty in future.
I'd been a little busy this month, therefore wasn't able to update much. But I'm here now :)I'm done with 3 books for this month from my planned TBR (all of these are Women's fiction):

Thanks a lot Cheryl for hosting this buddy read :)
Happy Reading!!
Cheryl - Yay! It's one hell of a book. Different from what Sparks usually write, but great nonetheless. I hope you'll like it! Do let me know ☺
Dagny - I haven't read The Rescue, but the description does sound good. Do let me know if ypu happen to read it.
I'm still not sure which ones I'll read. I'll be sorting out my shelf this coming week so I'll have something after that. But if I won't find anything, I'll read Emma Manga Classics.
BTW, I was wondering if you guys have read Nicholas Sparks' books? The adaptations of his books are a bit cheesy but the books are definitely not. Some of my favourites that I would recommend, in case if you haven't read them, are - - Safe Haven - a very complex book on relationships and a very mature and 'grown up' kind of read
- Dear John - a beautiful book
- The Choice - this one was so emotional that it made me cry for a couple of days after finishing the book
- The Longest Ride - the story is very, very good and is about 2 couples and, again, a very emotional read. The best part is there is no romance as such, but of course a lot of love in general. This one can also be counted for Western Fiction.
I haven't read his latest books, much to my own dismay, but his writing and characters are quite compelling - everyone still loves Noah and Alley from The Notebook!
Dagny wrote: "Heena wrote: "Good for you on seven - that's great considering all you had going on in February.."Thanks, makes me feel better. I've been in such a mystery-reading-slump lately that I wanted to read a bit more. But better 7 than not having read a lot.
Cheryl wrote: "Heena wrote: "Being from the U. S., I was unfamiliar with the festival of Holi. I looked it up here: http://www.independent.co.uk/news/wor...What fun! I hope you had a great time."
Thanks, Cheryl, we did have a great time :D
Welcome, Dagny. If you've not watched the movie already, the do so if you get a chance. I'm sure the book would be better than the movie, so please do read it if you can find it at your library. I have no words how beautiful the story is and some parts totally hilarious. I have a feeling you might love this one :)
OMG, Dagny you completed your goal of 15 books! Congrats :)I went MIA because of work and Holi preps. I wasn't able to read as much as I wanted but I did finish the month with 7 books - #7 was Seeing Red - 3/5.
Yeah... this is a tough month! I do have a few names on my list that I wanted to read for this month: The Help (The movie on this book is one of my all time favourites and I've wanted to read this book for a very, very long time!), Big Little Lies (I've been meaning to read this one since its release) and Bridget Jones's Diary (this one's just so famous.)In case if you won't mind mystery (sort fo cosy, but not really cosy... more like suspense... argh... it's hard to categorize LM's books but Women's Fiction is one genre they sit perfectly well in) The Husband's Secret by Liane Moriarty is a nice read. I loved the characters more than anything!
Also, in case if you don't mind reading a less famous author, then Her Sister's Shoes is a beautiful, beautiful book! I read it a couple of years ago and still can't help thinking about the characters from time to time.
Will post more names here if something else comes to my mind. :)
Hi Shashank, welcome to RMFAO. Good to have you here.As Dagny suggested you might like the Genre Challenge. We also have a buddy read coming up next month, so don't forget to check that out as well.
I'm a mystery buff too, but I also enjoy other dark fiction genres - psychological thrillers, dystopia (not the YA kind, but serious ones), apocalyptic and (post-a), high fantasy, horror, etc.
Good to know you're interested in creative writing. I'm a writer myself (I mostly write dark fiction and horror.)
