I was to Luisa Rey before I finally caught on to the scope of the work (though I liked Frobisher enough and even Ewing grew on me). Luisa and Cavendish were entertaining, but Sonmi rather spoke to me, as you might expect, what with me being the progenitor of a pseudo-sci-fi book club. Zachry was difficult to read, but interesting.
I had a harder time linking Zachry and Ewing to the greater story, except to say that they complimented each other well.
What common threads did you see appear in each of the six stories?

I was not fond of the twist that she was alive and plotting it all. Given that premise, however, I thought it was a good read. True, it was hard to read, but also true, it kept me reading like a junkie. The ending was the only possible ending - it would have been diminished if one of them killed the other, or if she had let him leave, or if she had been killed out there in the wilderness. The characters were unlikeable and somewhat unrealistic, but the book was quite a ride.
I am interested to see what these big-name actors do with the characters, and how or whether they change the ending.

Did you know Gone Girl is a movie set to come out in October, starring Ben Affleck? Well, it was filmed in Cape Girardeau. I'm talking with community leaders there to see if one is willing to maybe Skype in to the discussion and share their experiences as an extra.
