"The night sky shown down, illuminating the beach. Alyson stared up at Joshua; the ocean made a dull roar in the background as its waves crashed on the shoreline. There was music playing from the bar they'd just left. The jokes they'd been telling only moments before were distant memories. The air between them had shifted from playful to something else. He leaned toward her, "I'd never have let them touch you," he whispered.
Alyson froze, "Your girlfriend probably wouldn't appreciate that."

I always think I'll branch out, but I always end up writing a romance story - old habits die hard. In any case, if you're in the mood for a romance...then you're welcome to take a peek.

The thought process is that this is going to be Part 1 to a 4 part quartet. Not sure if it needs the 4 books, but I think there's too much to put in one without that one ending up being insanely long. And I'm not about that life haha
