Hey, I don't know if you remember me but I beta read another book of yours - the detailed summary at least. I enjoyed it, so I thought I could do it again.
I think that what inspired me to write was the escape writing provided for me. I think that it was the freedom I could get my hands on when I wrote. I think it was that I could become anyone, I could live anything I wanted, I could create everything I pleased. As time went, though, I began to write because I had to. I mean, literally had to. Because I was bearing characters inside of my soul and inside of my heart, and they had a story to tell. I was merely their vessel but their voices were so loud that I couldn't not take my pen and write down their story. I was compelled to write.
Inspiration comes everywhere. But I think that if I have an idea, it's just because I suddenly uncovered the truth about a character or a character I haven't met yet.
I do this for them. Because they have a story to tell and out of all people, they chose me to do so. I can't back down, and I can't lie. If I do, the story immediately comes out wrong and I can feel in my gut that it's not right.
Writing is a passion, but getting to know all those characters is probably the best part. They rip out my heart, and they make me laugh and they make me cry, and they make me smile. They change me, they make me grow with them. And I think that's why I'll never be able to stop writing.
Hi! I'm also a writer, and I find your ideas quite entertaining and I've to say I'm rather intrigued right now, so if you're looking for a writing buddy still, I'd be up for it! I mostly write YA, paranormal and fantasy.
Well there are downsides to every POV you'll pick. You just have to figure out which ones you're willing to put up with.
Nothing is ever illegal when it comes to writing. When you think about it, the switch between first person POV and third person POV can be similar to changing character POV in the same book.
I would say if you think it will benefit your book, if that's how you feel the story should be - with that kind of POV switching - then go for it.
Who doesn't doubt themselves? Doubt is a good thing. It forces you to think more deeply and to make sure that all you write is coherent and solid, at some point. Doubt urges you to perfect your writing and to seek amelioration. I think doubt is a part of the writing process. As long as it doesn't prevent you from writing, doubt is good. When you find yourself unable to write because you doubt yourself too much, that's when you've got a serious problem on your hands.
Haha yeah I totally get what you mean! Well, if you ever decide to pick up that idea, I'd love to read it.
Actually really like the idea that she sees the truth with one eye and lies with the other one. That would make an intriguing book for sure! You planning on working on this idea more or it was just this?
I'd say go with your gut. If it tells you to get a pen name, then by all means. Having one or not having one doesn't make you more or less of an author. Personally, I did pick a pen name. I'm not a big fan of my name, to make this a short story, so I decided I could be anyone.
