138122 I added 'Other' to the character profile, one blank line after 'Necklace' and three blank lines before 'Additional Information'.

138122 Don't worry about anything right now, just make a character or two!

138122 That's a lie. I could answer that question with either a simple 'yes' or 'no', but I don't want to spoil any surprises. ;) So basically, you're not going to get any answers for a while.

138122 I cannot answer that question, my love. ;) And I was so busy finding things that I (for the most part) forgot to actually pin things, so you should be safe. xD

138122 I apologize for the hectic nature of this topic.

Message 1 | Here the formatting is revealed for your ease. I will be picky about the formatting, so don't mess with it. All you need to do is get the links for your character's appearance and their necklace (For the necklace, right-click the appropriate picture on the Claims page and select from the drop-down menu 'Copy Image Address' [or its equivalent].) and remove any periods following this '<' symbol.

Message 2 | This is a sort of example for how the profile should look when you are done. Don't touch Personality, Relationships, and Changes. We might add to those later, but probably not. In fact, I might just go delete it, but I'll deliberate with y'all on the matter first.

I'm very fussy about grammar and formatting. You have been warned.

138122 If you read message 2 in About the Story, you should have enough information to begin work on your characters. (You are currently allowed no more than one man and one woman at this point in time.)

138122 Places may be claimed for characters here. An individual may only claim spots for (up to) one woman and one man at this point as there is only room for thirty-five characters total in the roleplay.

Jun 22, 2014 06:11PM

138122 You may claim positions for up to one woman and one man at this point (though they may not be in the same league). Tell me which league (i-vii) and which gender and I will save a spot for your character. At such time, I will delete the post wherein you placed your request. The numbers don't matter, they're just designating spots for members.

Regarding the necklaces: Yes, the men and women will both wear the necklace of their league. (So basically, everyone will be wearing a necklace.) All the necklace means to you or your character is this: If your character had to pick one of the seven necklaces below, which would they pick? (And yes, they do have to pick one.)

Every character that is either in progress or waiting approval gets their own topic in this folder.

If a character is incomplete, please entitle their topic
WIP - Character Name
with 'Character Name' obviously replaced with the particular character's name. (WIP stands for 'work in progress'.)

Once or if a character is completed, please retitle or title the topic with the character's full name.

All critiquing for a particular character will happen in their individual topic. As critiques are addressed, comments will be deleted to avoid confusion and to make it facilitate the critiquing process, so if you have a character undergoing critiquing, please check unread discussions on a regular basis.

138122 If you are online and available to roleplay, you are welcome to say so here. If you are going on vacation (for example) and know you will not be able to get online much—if at all—again, tell us. But here, please. If you know you have something coming up within a few days, tell us if you're worried about missing things. If you aren't worried about it, you don't need to comment here.

138122 So. Much. Pinteresting. :(

I'm trying to get things to a point where you guys can start creating characters because that doesn't require as much set up or information as the roleplay itself. There are a few things though that will have to wait until I have finished my researching and compiling.

138122 The Story

After those words spoken by an unseen man, whatever was holding the people away from the necklaces disappeared, leaving everyone free to choose "a life and a future". It didn't take too long for everyone to grab a necklace, and as the last was picked up, the ceiling disintegrated into a blue, cloudless sky and the walls of the room fell away, folding into grass-covered clearing, the floor likewise turning to grass beneath their feet.

"Find your families," came the voice of the man, the now-empty necklace display vanishing too as he spoke. "Find your team." His voice echoed through the clearing and through the forest of small trees the clearing was surrounded by. "The sooner you do so, the sooner you will learn the rules." The deep voice was growing louder and louder, booming through the air. "The object of the game? Do not die. Now go!"

138122 The Characters

Everyone speaks the same language and all are within three years of each other. They can't remember how old they are, but they all seem to be somewhere in their early twenties. Personalities will be developed in-story rather than being pre-determined. Why? Because these characters have no recollection of anything that happened before they woke up in the pitch black to the gasps and panicked breaths of everyone else waking up. They cannot even remember their names, though they have small pieces of paper with a name handwritten in blue ink on it pinned to their shirt like a sort of name-tag. No one knows where they came from. For all they know, they could have grown up in this place, only to have forgotten about it now. They can read and write and can name objects such as trees, the sky, rocks, colors, etc.

138122 Background

They woke up very suddenly in a dark room, disoriented and confused. Within seven seconds a bright light turned on, illuminating thirty-six different people. At the front of the room, another light came up after a few more seconds had gone by, revealing two rows of boxes set up on a long, thin table. A few people ventured towards the table, only to find themselves stopped short a few yards from the table, filled with seven boxes from one side to the next.

In the first box was a gold necklace, featuring a circular piece of shell half dipped in gold. In the second box, a silver necklace, with a small, only slightly overlapping spiral of a pendant, silver like the chain it hung on. The third necklace (looking in the boxes from left to right, that is) was gold like the first, but the pendant was gold-capped pieces of raw amethyst. The fourth necklace was silver, the pendant a silver tree contained within an oblong form. The fifth necklace was another gold one, upon which a gold square was hung, the chain strung through two sides of the box shape, close to one of the corners. The sixth necklace was the third and last of the silver necklaces, holding a silver pendant, an oblong shape with points on the top and bottom sides, edged with spiraled silver wire, with a similar wire twisted around one edge of the shape, the pendant finished off with a lapis lazuli stone resting inside the tear-like shape at the bottom. The seventh and last necklace was gold, similar to the fourth necklace in the fact that the pendant was a tree, though this one was gold and held in a circular form. A peculiar fact not evident until much later was the number of necklaces—thirty-six total. Four in the first box, six in the second, six in the third, five in the fourth, five in the fifth, four in the sixth, and six in the seventh—thirty-six all together.

"Listen closely,"a man's voice sounded, though the speaker or any source of the sound could and would not be found. "Before you is your life. Choose one. But use caution. Know that in choosing one, you are choosing a life and a future. Do not choose and you will lose both."
