1) read at least 50 books from my physical TBR
2) Finish or be up to date with at least 8 series I started before 2021 (up to a good start, I just finished the latest Anita Blake instalment)
3) Read at least 12 classics this year
4) Read diversely and read more of the genres I love but don't read so much of (science fiction and Historical romance for instance)
5) Read more of my massmarket paperbacks (It's not because they are a bit hidden on my shelves that I should ignore them !!!)
Results:
1) 22/50
2) 5/8

In this case at least I'd say it's because it is High Fantasy, but with creatures we usually see in Paranormal, such as vampires and werewolves. although, here they are named differently, but they're still the same. Vampry... Wolven... Pretty much the same as vampires and werewolves.
House of Earth and Blood is very similar in that sense. High fantasy, but with paranormal creatures.

I feel you, Sammy. The wait is hard for some of them. But there might be hope for the Thorn of Emberlain. I know it was pushed back a few times.... but I heard somewhere this could be it???? I mean maybe don't get your hopes up, but there might be a chance.

EDIT: okay, the list is already growing a little bit
I'd say, definitely the new Sarah J Maas.
Across the Green Grass Fields by Seanan McGuire, which is coming out soon !
Chain of Iron by Cassandra Clare
Lore by Alexandra Bracken
Under the Whispering Door by TJ Klune
Blade of Secrets by Tricia Levenseller
Son of the Storm by Suyi Davies Okungbowa
The Galaxy, and the Ground Within by Becky Chambers
A Psalm for the Wild-Built by Becky Chambers
Nowhere by Brandon Sanderson
Empress of Flames by Mimi Yu
The Witness for the Dead by Katherine Addison
Empire of the Vampire by Jay Kristoff
Dare I hope for The Thorn of Emberlain by Scott Lynch???

- The City of Brass by SA Chakraborty
- The Ten Thousand Doors of January by Alix E Harrow
- On the Edge by Ilona Andrews
- The Mysterious and Amazing Blue Billings by Lily Morton
- Rhapsodic by Laura Thalassa
And the really bad ones:
- The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger
- A Court of Blood and Void by Meg Xuemei X
- Rook by JC Andrijeski
- Too Good to Be True by AE Via
- The End of Mr. Y by Scarlett Thomas
I shudder in disgust only thinking of those 5. Yuck !

Crochet worked a little better for me, but I never made anything really interesting.
Last year however, I started to learn to saw and that I like a lot.
