
Marissa poked her head back out. "No thanks."

"Sure," Daniel said.
Marissa slipped away quietly into her room.

"Yeah," Daniel remarked dryly. "Guess that slipped my mind."

"No," Marissa said quietly.
Daniel glared at her. "I understood the last part. Other than our evil mom showing up, nothing much."

Daniel blinked at her. "What?"

Daniel came up the stairs. "Hello. Where is she?"
"In a room," Marissa answered.

Marissa sighed. "C'mon, let's find Daniel."

Marissa glanced at Aria's door. "We'll have to find a way to stop
her."

Marissa smiled at her. "Oh, don't worry about that."

Aria nodded. "Thank you. I'll talk to you and your brother later, Marissa. So we can catch up."
Aria disappeared into an empty room.

Marissa and Aria followed.

"Okay," Marissa said.
Aria said, "Lead on then, girls."

Aria smiled. "Great!"
Marissa looked at Jace and Clary. "Could I show her where the rooms are?"

Aria turned her smile to Clary and Jace. "If it doesn't cause any trouble."

Aria smiled at Daniel. "I wouldn't dream of separating you two."

"Yeah!" Daniel said, moving to stand next to Taylor.

Daniel and Marissa made it downstairs. Aria was waiting for them. She grinned. "Daniel! Marissa!"
