Trollus is a complete category 5 right now, I'd imagine. That must be fun...
I will say that I did feel bad for Anushka, buuut she was the one who literally kept killing members of her own family afterwards to keep them trapped. Isn't that a little ironic? You definitely satisfied my expectations for a compelling backstory for her, but I was already kinda convinced they shouldn't be freed...except maybe some of them

4. Welp, that's awkward isn't it. The witch that put the curse on your family is my ancestor.
5. Oh, I think I know what she meant by that. I think what's she's saying is that he knows how freaking magical and powerful and otherworldly he is. She thought he'd be someone that she could feel sorry for, but she was wrong. She feels that he had the ability to save Cecile from her pain.

3. I thought it was more of an Angoulême scheme, and I too was digusted. I think I hadn't really made up my mind about Lessa before that, but after this...You know how much I love (REAL) Anais lol
5. I'm not going to say too much, but I was definitely starting to have some suspicions that it was a lot closer to her than she thinks.

Omg I had no idea Catherine was based on a real person! I just looked her up, and she's very interesting. I had no idea Europe ever had a poison craze!

2. Yeah, I wouldn't ask me that question. I'm not here to be any kind of opinion on hunting, I can barely climb the stairs without wanting to take a nap.
4. YESSSSSS! I WAS THINKING YESSS you cruel woman!

omg I have never felt this way at all! I hope not, at least! I have always tried to judge every character's mistakes and actions fairly in a book. I try to look at their character so far and decide if what they just did makes sense for them and if they learn from their mistakes. I try really hard to not judge Tristan and Cecile unfairly, so I'm not sure what it could be. Maybe they think because he's a prince, he has more responsibility and harder decisions? ughhhhh i hope not

I agree with everyone who's said it's probably because they've become so common and many aren't written well haha. They tend to be used as a plot device to create more drama and can seem really unnecessary. I'd be interested in a love triangle as long as:
1. There are valid reasons why there is one.
2. The people involved aren't ridiculously indecisive.
3. There is something that makes it interesting other than "i love you!!! oh wait...i love them too....i think"

LOL if you know me, you'll know that I love a good "i don't trust him/her, but DAMN are they attractive?!" moment. The chemistry is great.

Lol right? I was like "oooh Cecile AWKWARD" and had to turn away for a second haha

Oh no. I would not be bonded to anyone. I'm scared of feelings.
If I were Cecile I would try and learn as much as possible about my surroundings, while also trying to find a way to escape and save my friends, so basically what she's already doing.
I don't know if my favorite part has happened yet, but it's not a spoiler or anything.
It's when Tristan is taking his clothes off and Cecile is like "oh my god he's REALLY good looking I kinda want to..." and Tristan is like "oh no, she's blinded by my hotness" and freezes mid-change cause they can sense each other's thoughts. I smiled a lot reading that. and re-reading that.

I always knew that Tristan and Cecile was the way to go. I really love Marc and think that he is great, but I like him much better as a wingman/best friend/advisor to Tristan. I feel like a part of Marc will always love his lost love and it just wouldn't feel right. I wish Anais's sister hadn't died, it kills me to see him so sad.
I definitely need good backstory in my fantasies. Action is great, but it only works if I understand why it is happening and if I care about the characters. Of course, too much backstory drags as well. You need the perfect balance.
From what I remember, Cecile is remarkably smart about the situation, so I probably wouldn't have done many things differently. That's one of the things that made me respect this series, she wasn't ridiculous like a lot and I mean a lot of other protagonists.
Oh gosh. There are so many great fantasies. I don't think I can choose a favorite!
