There wasn't that much time left, the subway cars left every 30 minutes, each heading there own direction. Crown Hill. Westwood. Othello. Lake City. The moment she was on the subway she would be gone. Again. The streets of Washington was already filled with commuters, each with their own agendas, their own time frames, but Will's time was running out. He looked up at the sign before the entrance to the underground transportation system, 3 minutes until departure. Damn, he was late.
His heart was beating profusely, his gun tucked away underneathe the back of his belt, hidden by his black blazer. He had to be prepared, he only had this one moment and if he didn't catch her now, he would have to pick up on another lead. They had said eaither dead or alive, that's all they wanted, her face, her information that she knew, all of that to be gone. Including her existence, MacKenzie Harth, former military, and now his only mission. Will headed down the steps to the subway floor, following the arrows that would lead him to his destination. He couldn't pause for a moment, he also couldn't risk being seen by her, and he needed to get close enough to catch her.
He scanned his surroundings as he entered the platform, and snatched a baseball cap that had been left unattended on top of a backpack. He fit it atop of his head, pulling it down low enough to cover his forhead. He moved closer to the center of the platform, examining each woman's face that he passed. Brown hair, he remebered. The subway car was pulling up to a stop, he only had a few seconds left, should he board the car, hoping she would be on there or stay on the platform.
At that moment, as the crowd began to move, he spotted one woman standing alone near the edge of the platform. He recognized the side of her face immediately, he had found his target. He looked down, and started walking in her direction, pushing past the people in front of him. He was slow, capable and moving forward but as he glanced up again at the sound of the closing doors of the subway he saw the she had begun moving. The station rattled with the sound of the now in motion subway car and Will fought against the people who had just come onto the platform.
Will pushed back with greater urgency, noticing now that she had moved down to the lower level of the station and onto the tracks. He didnt wait to get off at the same exact spot, he jumped down to the tracks, a few feet from where she had landed and began to chase after her. She must have noticed his forward advance as she too began to sprint deeper into the tunnel. Will ignored the distant shouts from the station, no doubt bystanders alarming others of their actions.
The tunnel was getting darker as he followed MacKenzie, a few feet in front of him, he could pull out his gun now and shoot her in the back. Suddenly she disappeared around the corner, he slowed down his pace, reached his hand back to his gun and pulled it out. His steps were as quiet as he could manage, the echo gave way to his presence inside the deep hollow cave. He heard a slight rumble, vibrations coming off of the wall, and looked up, noticing a ladder that was extending down. At that moment, Will's gun was knocked out of his hand, a high kick had sent it sprawling to the floor. She was here, and finally he was face to face with the runaway he had been tracking.

William. A name. The only thing that was given to him by his birth parents before they dropped him off in an orphanage. The woman, might have gotten pregnant too early in her ears, an accident, or possibly forced to be given up despite her wishes. The man, perhaps a 'spirited teen,' maybe a man too focused on work to have a family, or he might have not even known of his child's existence. All these things William thought about as he spent his life in foster care, wondering what were the true identities of his birth parents. He was a rather well behaved kid, and his foster family sent him to school and cared for him, that was until they had a child of their own and William was once again transferred to another family. This time, he was under the pretense that they might adopt him, sadly, that didn't happen and he moved to another family that lived out on a farm, respectable, financially well off family with children of their own.
William grew up in that family, aided in chores around the house, attended middle school and high school with his foster brothers but never was truly part of the family. There was never a hint of the word adoption again in William's life and in time he 'aged out' of the program. When he turned eighteen he was legally on his own, graduated from high school, free to go wherever he wanted, and in truth, unable to go back to the house that he had lived in for the past six years. William had only one route to go in his mind, a route that would allow him to find a place to eat, sleep and work, and that was within the military.
He enlisted, he was accepted and they paid for his flight to move into the base where he would begin his training. He trained as a marine for a few years before joining a special forces that was operated under Commander Damian Harth. He worked along side the commander, and earned the nickname Will from his team, as well as the Commander's daughter who he'd often see by her father's side. Commander Harth, despite his unknowing of Will's past, took him under his wing, teaching him tactics, stealth, weaponry and infiltration. Damian Harth still treated Will as a soldier with no emotional exceptions to any task given to him but in their time spent with each other Will felt like he began to see Damian as what a father would be to him. On more than one occasion, Commander Harth saved Will's life and taught him valuable lessons, never once allowing for failure to be an option for Will.
In the years that passed, Will began to see more of the Commander's daughter, often joining her in her training and the work she performed along side her father. MacKenzie, otherwise known to him as 'Enzi,' was her father's daughter and picked up on the tasks at hand with ease, and with those that she had a harder time doing, Will was there to assist her in them. The relationship between the three of them grew and Will found himself wondering and truly feeling the world 'family' form in his brain when he was around them.
An abrupt piece of information met Will's ears one day, MacKenzie's mother, Addison had passed away in a fire. He had never met her, even though he imagined what their meeting would be like several times as he often heard stories about her through Enzi. This news came to him at a shock, and went to Commander Harth for answers, it was then that he revealed to him his assumption of a covered up murder, the cause of his wife's death had been planned. He wouldn't tell him anything more but he let him know that he was leaving, making him promise to keep a letter safe for him, unopened, unread and sealed for only Enzi's eyes to see.
Will was never able to deliver the letter to Enzi, she had disappeared from the military base along with her father. Months later the news was brought to him that both of them had died in a fire, he didn't know at that moment that Enzi had survived, and he didn't know that the fire had been planned to kill both father and daughter. He merely knew that he was an officer, hired by the government to protect, serve, and infiltrate by whichever means necessary.

{History}
Emma's first few years of her life can be summed up with three words, simple, loving and carefree. She grew up with stuffed animals, got a small dog, Yorkie, when she was five and drew a lot, at times that included on the wall.
She attended elementary school and middle school in Colorado, and it was there where she visited a science fair for a school fieldtrip. She fell in love with science, with the stars, with the anatomy of the body, and how the body was able to heal itself over time. She used to go to the library, check out several books and try to read them despite her reading capabilities not being that advanced. Emma had the initials of E.T. and in middle school the kids loved to tease her with that name relating to the alien character due to her fascination for science. She would hear their taunts and try to move to another part of the cafeteria, playground or classroom but the teasing persisted. She was in 7th grade when one day students in her class found her crying, the name calling had gotten to her and she couldnt but up a strong front anymore. Holding her books tightly in her hands she tried to make a run for it but one of the kids grabbed her and pushed her down, sending her books flying and falling into a nearby pool of mud from yesterdays eain storm. Angered swelled up inside of Emma and she got up despite the cut she had on her knees from falling on the pavement and pushed the boy with all her might. He fell backwards, and slipped, hitting his head hard on the pavement floor. Paramedics were called to the school, parents were called in and in the next month Emma and her family moved out of Colorado and found a home in Kennewick, Washington.
Emma found it easier to be herself in Washington, she joined an academic program in highschool, studied hard and got good grades, continued her studies with science and after a long consideration decided to go to college to become a medical doctor. She worked part time in the beginning of college and finally had to commit to only focusing on school as the exams got tougher and the information grew. She graduated from the University of Washington School of Medicine and started working at the Hospital in Seattle at the age of 27 as a practicing doctor.
The work there was extensive, the time that she had interned there as a medical student had prepared her for the paperwork, the diagnosis and several surgeries but it still proved difficult. She wouldnt sleep for days, caring for patients, especially when sudden calamities had occured and she kept her work and the people who needed her help in the forefront of her mind at all times. At the age of 28, Emma was scheduled to perform surgery on a teenage girl who needed Thoracic Aortic Dissection Repair. The surgery was a risky one, the parents of the girl knew that, the blood vessels in the heart needed to be repaired with a synthetic graft and without it, the girl could fall into a stroke or rupture her aorta. Despite the warnings of her colleagues, Emma took on the surgery but sadly, it was unsuccessful. Emma attended the girls funeral, the parents held no grudge but Emma's mental stability changed as well as her head position in the hospital. She had experienced death before, of patients in the hospital and her own relatives but she had been so adiment to save this girls life. Maybe it was in the way that she had seen a bit of her younger self in the girl, or the promise she had made to her right before the surgery that she was unable to keep that triggered Emma's setback. Her colleagues were sympathetic, no one mentioned the surgery but Emma asked to be put off surgeries for a while. She still assisted patients, diagnosed their symptoms, aided in quick surgeries but took a break from leading a surgery.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
One early morning, Emma walked out of the glass doors of the hospital in quite a hurry, trying to clear her mind of the conversation she just had with her supervisor. He had made it clear to her that her recent attitude would make her lose her job and possibly needed a leave of absence to sort out her priorities. She had taken a taxi to the Madison Park in Seattle but her trip was stopped short when police road blocks prevented the vehicle from moving any further. She got out of the vehicle and moved toward the crowd that was forming against the blockade, a massive burglary was taken place at the nearby bank and the robbers were taking hostages. She was about to step back, move away from the scene, images of dead people crossing her mind when her hand was suddenly grabbed by a man in a police uniform. He took one look at her badge on her lab coat, addressed her as 'Doctor Tullen' and pulled her through the crowd of people toward two men that had been shot, one in the leg, the other in the shoulder. Emma worked quickly to stop the bleeding, she was informed that the ambulance was on their way but these men needed medical attention now. Officer Attican, who had pulled her into the scene, left her side and rushed into the bank at the call in on his radio that the suspects were fleeing from the bank out toward the back.
The ambulance came shortly after, more gun shots were heard from the direction of the bank and finally, she heard that the robbers had been apprehended. A medical team rushed inside the bank once all was clear and started to pull men out of the building, as she looked on from the street, she noticed one familiar face on top of a stretcher. It was that of Officer Attican, a dark stain of blood covered his left chest, and his eyes were shut tightly, trying to bear in the pain. Emma instinctively followed after him and onto the ambulance he had been placed upon, he was immediately hooked up to the machine to record his vitals and Emma tore through his clothing to reveal a bullet wound that had pierced his chest. Her eyes widened, with her experience the bullet had missed both ventricles of his heart, barely piercing the chest cavity but had caused a large amount of hemorrhage to take place, causing the heart to increase its rate, spilling more blood and therefore endangering his life by 65%. There was a chance of survival, a slim one but a chance no doubt, Emma didn't hesitate, she didn't falter and grabbed the tools within the ambulance and began preparing him for surgery so that when he made it to the hospital, she could start right away on the procedure.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Emma awoke from her short nap with the sound of knocking at her office door, she quickly got up, ruffled out the crease in her white coat and opened the door. Officer Attican stood in the doorway, smiling at her, "I heard that I might find you in here," he said, making room so that she could step out. She returned the smile, looking down at the floor before returning her gaze up at him, "I'm glad to see that you are doing a lot better," she commented, and began walking with him to the examination room. As they walked side by side, she recounted the look he had given her as he had been wheeled into the hospital, it was one of trust, knowing that she would help him live. She breathed out, and looked up at the man standing before her, not realizing that she would one day soon rely on him to help her survive as well.

"Right, Mel always knows how to hanfle these things," Adam made one last remark before turning returning back to his desk. It was neat to say the least, pens in their cup holder, he didnt have any sticky notes anywhere, he would end up losing them. Instead he put all of his notes eaither in his phone or a notebook that he put away in the first left hand side drawer. His keyboard was placed next to a mouse and regular black mouse pad. There was nothing unique about Adam's desk that would signify it was his, his other co workers had pictures of their family, or even just a special item that was propped up. He repositioned his chair and sat comfortanly in it, adjusting it to his proper level to adjust for his height. This was odd, he never had to adjust it since he was the only who sat in this chair, eaither someone else had been here looking at Adam's information or it was as simple as the lifting mechanism was finally giving out after the constant use. Whatever the reason, Adam didn’t give it a second thought and opened up Microsoft, Google Chrome and a folder he had placed on his desktop that kept the files of his current cases.
He got up a third time and opened the blinds to the window next to his desk. He looked for but a moment at the people and cars passing by, knowing that anyone of those people could be part of a crime or planning on one. Adam wasn't paranoid of the fact that danger could be lurking around every corner, he was more of a realist and knew the truth that people were unpredictable. He began to sit at his desk once again, although he now noticed a glate on his screen from the sun that was coming in, he decided just to deal with it and not get up again. Adam searched through the news websites, one of his favorite pass times and saw articles about wrecks, celebrities, break ins, number of people getting sick with a new virus and finally, articles about the weather. Adam closed the screen and opened up his tecent documents and began to prepare for the meeting and autopsy later that day. All the while, taking a few chances to glance up from his computer screen to see Kate and Alex conversing with each other.

:o you were upset? I always end up listening to music when I'm upset about something.

That sounds like an awesome group, I'd love to join once you have it up :)

Ahh, i know what you mean Jacque! PERFECT! This is all turning out so good, and take your time, I am headed off to bed early, my allergies are killing me. D:

Adam smirked at Kate’s comments toward his friends, there was no denying it so there was no way he could back them up on this one. Adam hardly had any friends, more like drinking buddies he would say, they would meet out on Fridays, drink a couple of beers, each of them talking about their own works, some women, others their own wives and carry on with their day. Adam had a reputation with women, he also had a reputation that he liked to not take things too seriously but above all else, he kept his work first and foremost in his mind. “Jealous, I don’t think so, just know you can run to me for help if need be Kate,” he leaned closer to her as he finished his sentence, his words almost in a whisper. He shot back up when he spotted Alex walking toward their direction. His running at trying to make Kate on edge with different topics had run out, with Alex by her side, he felt like he was up against a steel wall. He tried to recollect the last time he had made Alex laugh at one of his carefree jokes, and the memory never came.
He nodded in Alex’s direction when she came over to join in on their conversation. “Morning Alex.” He felt an uneasy sense creep over his shoulder as Kate brought up the conversation of his short term, no relationship thing he had with Lisa. He gulped, his adam’s apple moving in unison, “You can see right through me can’t you,” he replied to Kate’s remark of trying to escape the subject. “And it wasn’t Lucy, her name was Lisa and to answer your question, no, she took a flight out to Boston this morning.” He had met Lisa in one of the police departments seminars that he attended last week, it was to update them on the rules of the city. “And I know what you’re thinking, where did I meet this one this time, well, she had approached me at last weeks seminar and she needed someone to show her around the department.” He raised his eyebrows in justification, and made his way back to his own desk, hoping to escape the persistent questions. He stopped midway however and turned to Alex, "I heard that your team found a lead in our case, thank you for that. Although, I wish we would have gotten to that psycho before another defenseless person had to die. Have they finished with the forensics yet?"

"It was a nice dinner, I took her, Lisa I mean, to that Shuckers restuarant down on University Drive. I know the manager there well so I was able to get a rooftop table. I can take you there one day if you'd like," Adam finished, with a slightly serious offer toward Kate, although he doubted she'd accept. Despite their close relationship, it never advanced further than a business type partnership, still, Adam was careful to leave out the part that the woman did come back to his house afterwards and stayed the night. He wouldn't be seeing Lisa again though nor did he expect a call, she had only been in town for a few weeks for a couple of seminars for her job.
He noticed that she was hoping he'd talk for the remainder of the time about his date before they went into the briefing but that wouldn't be the case. "You know Kate, if you don't want to go with me to a friendly dinner, I have some friends that I think you'd be interested in," he tried to hide his smile, as he walked over to Kate's desk. As he did, he noticed a paper that was on her desk, it was a memo from their new Lieutenant David Garcia. Adam snatched the paper up and turned it around so he could read it carefully. "I never recieved this memo, wait... he is changing the way we file in our work," Adam held the paper in one hand as he pinched the skin between his eyebrows with the other,"I didnt see anything wrong with the old system," he exclaimed to himself but loud enough for Kate to hear. Adam grew in this department with the old Lieutenant, Dan Burns who unfortunately had to retire, so accomadating with the new and younger Lieutenant was going to take Adam some time. It was more of an emotional attatchment than anything, although Adam never would admit it.

I did that too when I was working on my character, I woke up at midnight and just started writing out the history. Haha!
